Perfect time man, I always get nervous when doing a fast break layup in a game, so I usually don’t take it and pass. I could have gotten so many points in my games!

The fast break has always been my favorite part of playing since I have good instincts on the fast break.

I was 15 yrs old my first time playing on a Summer league Im a guard/forward (5'6) my team depends on me on Scoring but they want me to play Center (post plays) and whenever I run on fastbreaks they always ask me to pass the ball they dont let me score on fastbreaks even our coach scolded me a lot by that, then after that I didnt learn how to do fastbreak Im good at post up but Im not that effective because Im short I only grew 5 inches (20 yrs).
@JezPhipps

Sunshine I understand to a point why they wouldn’t want the big to run the break with the ball, but that’s something you gotta work on even if you’re a big, never Settle to play one position.... become positionless so you can do everything. Show out in practice so he’ll have trust in you in game.

@@JezPhipps that really is my goal, now I play 1-3 honestly I dunno how to run Plays and shit I just run and pass the ball and score sometimes, maybe because Im somehow atlethic and I always sees the open man thats why my friends plays me at 1. Btw I talk like this but I didnt even make it to varsity team even once because Im too small I only grew this quaranrine about 3.5 inches thats crazy for me you ask me (5'7-5'11) and Im 20 yrs old but. I know their skills/talent aint that far on mine they are just hardworker than me. You deserve every subscribers you had. Thank you For replying. GODBLESS TO YALL.😁

Mr. Jp I have request. Can you make a video. how to attack a defender 1 on 1 in a fastbreak? For example the video that starts at 2:00. I feel like Lonzo could have done a better move to get a basket himself.

Love doing fastbreaks thats when you catch the defense not set yet
@davidhall4401

I have a question for you. I completely mastered the one motion jump shot and my release is lightening fast. Also my shooting percentage off the dribble and off the catch are extremely high in games. The way I like to attack in transition is when the defense has it back turned and is very slow getting down court to defend. I'm a small guy and I can get to the rim well for my size, but as a small guy you don't want to have to take the ball amongst the trees. So the biggest strength of my game is my ability to go full speed at the defender if he is already down court, but still not set and stopping on the dime for a quick step back pull up jumper within the very close up 3 point range and midrange areas because getting my defender who is normally way taller than me in a position where he is always back peddling in an off balance manner allows me to also create lay up opportunities for guys running the floor with me in transition. Is this the right thing to do in transition?
@davidhall4401
@davidhall4401 4 года назад
I ask this question Because some coaches simply want the ball handler always trying to get to the cup, but alot of my coaches and teammates wanted me to always get the midrange because of my ability to knock down the pull up jumper and they taught me to avoid driving against taller defenders unless I bring that taller defender outside of the paint. When should a shorter player drive to the basket in transition for a layup?
@JezPhipps
@JezPhipps 4 года назад
David Hall if you have guys running with you then definitely try to set them up for a pass due to them being bigger than you, they’ll have a better chance at dunking or finishing at the rim. There’s no issue by pulling up and hitting a three and a mid range pull up but keep them guessing

I also have a step back hesitation crossover for them as well where I come full speed and do a pull back or drag step like Iverson would do, but I do it in a manner where I automatically step back and fake the shot and quickly crossover without thinking about it. I am so good at sailing the fake on this move that when I strongly plan to shoot I still do the hesitation. The step back hesitation crossover works best when the individual doing the move also believes he going to shoot and then does something else. If you properly trick yourself then you're going to trick the defender as well.

Not a good vid for learning the FB , most clips showed terrible examples 🤷🏽‍♂️ never addressed running lanes, never addressed an outlet pass and what that is...if looking for real info, this doesn't seem to be the place for it.
