One time during my run I couldn't stop my train, it was unstoppable. This is my first time playing this game. It took me forever to figure out how to start the cab until I looked up a video and I needed to change the valve to freight
Seriously that tutorial was like have at it! Luckily the engines were on already (the missions I tried), but I'm learning some sequence of operation here..
Hmm i find ir a bit odd that you use the emergency fuel cut of to stop the loco in normal operation, shouldn't that only used in emergencies, or is this just a case of dtg being lazy and not implementing another way of doing ut
They really need more tutorials for TSW2. I was struggling with this for the longest time. No fun at all and almost uninstalled. Thankfully there are peeps like yourself providing vids like this. Thanks for this!
I spent a whole day on my PS4 trying to work out for myself how to start all the trains in TSW2 with the minimum of screen presses and references to the manuals that I had to download. I managed practically everyone apart from all of the Sand Patch Grade freight trains and the Bakerloo Line tube train. I still don't get why they can't add an optional quick start button that sets the train up for you ready to go if you don't want to go to the hassle of having to go through the full procedure. Anyway I've resigned myself to letting the Sand Patch Grade trains drive themselves and just enjoy the view!
Awesome tutorial! Very helpful for learning the ins and outs of starting one of these beasts up! I've got a question, though. So if you're running a MU consist, does the other engine start when you start the head loco or do you have to prime and start it as well? Is it necessary to even start the double head? Does the lead engine generate power for both loco's traction motors?
I want so Thank You for a view! I'm glad that the video helped you. You will have to start each locomotive that is on the train. If you are going up or down any grade it is essential to make sure each loco is running. The head loco does not control the traction motor of any other loco besides its own. There are cables that run between each loco and that tells each other loco in the consist what to do.
@@lucerogaming3720 Ok, that's good to know! I was trying to figure out if they had the secondary unit already started in the first couple of GP38-2 missions. It felt like it was, since I was able to pull forward with the MU set to Lead/Dead, and tow a few cars, but I couldn't tell for sure. Sometimes it would feel very heavy when starting to roll, and I would have to kick the throttle up to 3 just to get moving. Thanks again for the help! I used to be part of a Model Railroad club, so I'm familiar with some terminology and switch operations, but it's always fascinated me about how to real deal works. It's much more complicated than just running circles around a track, that's for sure!
Yeah I noticed that also on a few missions. I don't know if it's a bug or what. Absolutely, after working 5 years as a freight conductor I learned alot of things about the railroad. That is why I play Train Sim games so I can show/teach ppl what it's like.
Why is this game so dark even in the middle if the day? Every area that's not directly hit by light, inside or outside, are hard to see details. Feels like shadows are too strong. Any way to adjust that?
Just got this on the PC from Xbox game pass and has very little instructions. You have given me all I need to get this machine moving. Been struggling to get it to move when coupled to the 12 carriages but YAY!!! at last it moves. Thanks for the video.
I don't think at this time we can spawn with the train off. You can always turn it off and then turn it on but I'm hoping in the future dovetail allows us to start in game with the locomotives off.
I purchased the game yesterday and the narrator doesn't explain this. Thank you for this explanation. I've only got the base game. Have you got any pack recommendations? What train should I get next?
@@lucerogaming3720 Oh and I apologise I realise I haven't specified what I was referring too. Right so I coupled up to the freight cars but the train wouldn't move. I used your video and found out about the "Lead or dead" brake button. I was just saying that the introduction doesn't cover this feature. So I thank you again.
Hi, just came across your video. Never used Dovetail before (more used to flight sims) and somewhat confused as to how to get around, don't find their info very enlightening.. Simple question first, how do I board the train (step by step would be helpful). I am using a mouse and keyboard by the way.
It's the Y button on the xbox controller. I play on the Xbox One so I can't tell you what to button to use. I think in the tutorials might tell you what to button to press.
You might want to turn on your fuel pump and engine run switches on the console or you won't get far on a real one. I would also suggest checking your brakes before you start the engine so you know what's going to happen.
