I have the Norcold N841 and I've been having issue with it warming up off and on for a few years! I replaced the thermistor about 4 years ago and the fridge was working great for a while and then it started warming and fluctuating and since I bought the new one I didn't think twice that it would be the issue again but today I decided to check the thermistor using a multimeter and I'm now certain that's the issue! The readings I'm getting are 27.5 ohms at 32°F and 6.7 ohms at 83°F...... According to the Norcold Ohms readings chart it's supposed to be around 8.2-9 ohm's at around 83°F and 30-32 ohm's at 32°F!!!! It's definitely looking like that's the issue for how warm the fridge has been getting! The fins also frost a little in the fridge and the back of the freezer recently had about an inch of ice! Thanks for the video! It's what helped me figure it out! If it turns out not to be the thermostor I'll come back and update my comment!

The evaporator in our fridge/freezer keeps icing up and not letting cold air to fridge. I believe it's the evaporator thermostat(temperature sensor)that's suppose to kick on the defrost heater at a certain temp to defrost. Question, I removed the sensor/thermostat and at room temperature should that show at least some measure of resistance? I hooked it up to my multimeter and got what is the error or the infiniy . On a different type of temp sensor that is new and working I get 0.0. Keep in mind the sensor that I think is bad is bulging out.

how many thermistors are in a normal (modern LG three door) refrigerator? Is there on in the freezer section and one on the refrigerator section? Is there a third on the evap coil? Do they all tend to show the 25C impedance on the lead wire?

Larry, it's model specific. Different models can have a different amount of thermistors in different areas which can also actually vary in resistance value.
