Great tip about the lighthouse unpair command. I did the literal identical process yesterday with failure multiple times because I think one of my trackers was "competing" for the link box connection. I think this was because I did a flat upgrade from an original vive to a pro 2, which means the new link box paired the hand controllers last, instead of first. The only addition for vive is that the steamvr companion app has a tool to reinstall all usb drivers which seemed to help as well.
Absolute legend 10 months later. I was troubleshooting for like 4 days with so many different things when I built a new rig. Now everything is butter smooth for tracking and no drifting.
Nice tutorial matey...is there a better way to pair knuckles and vive trackers to the hp reverb g2 with dongles other than using the old method with space cal ? I get a problem everytime I boot up the hands are 10 feet ahead of me and have to keep resetting steamvr till it corrects itself..
Thank you! I bought what I thought was a controller off ebay. Turns out it is a tracker that looks like a controller. I used a different lighthouse cmd to update the tracker's config and lied to it, telling it it was a controller. But it took this video to find out how to reset the bindings of controllers and trackers in order for it to show up right so ....thank you
DO NOT FORGET about glares and reflections from mirrors, TV screens and windows. I recently forgot about this put up a mirror in the same place my VR setup is and started getting issues. I flipped the mirror around and all problems stopped!. Tip: If the mirror/TV needs to be up for other people in the house, it can always be covered with a towel or something for the gaming session
my left controller refuses to pair/connect at all any ideas? ive got a whole pcie expansion card isolating the headsets power and it still isn't enough
My left controller stopped tracking for no reason, it was working before, I unpaired my left controller and it still didn't work, but nice tutorial keep up the great work
I am having this problem with my trackers that every time i connect 2 works fine but asoon as i connect the 3rd one i start lagging really bad up to the point that is unplayable i have 32gb ram / 3070 / ryzen 7 3800x i dont think is my pc but for some reason i got them working for couple of month but when i connected my 2nd base station it went back to do the same thing Any help?
I’m trying to use mine but my base stations won’t stay connected to my steam vr, I’ve tried unplugging them and ee plugging them in but even that didn’t work, and for some reason I don’t have the Bluetooth thing for them either and it doesn’t let me update them it tells me to use the same cord as for the trackers but it doesn’t fit
i dont know what the heck is going on with my feet trackers but its like something is blocking the tracking when there is nothing in the way, like if the gym mat or something for some reason blocks the tracking and it happened out of nowhere where my feet goes flying, and it happens to my headset too when its close to the floor, im like what?
So basically, I connect my controllers and trackers to my computer then after a bit of time, one of my controllers would lose connection out of no where and then steamvr would tell me that I can't pair them because all the slots are filled even though there's no dongles and I unpaired all. I don't understand how to fix this because I even hard reset my computer just now and it still does it. Please someone help me fix my vr stuff.

Correction the one controller going blue is steamvr using the controler connection to check on the lighthouse status you can see this especially if you turned on the auto standby when the controller goes blue the headset is starting the lighthouses from standby
Oddly removes the pairing but doesn't remove the trackers from manage trackers and unable to repair any of them and they remain on blue, anyone else have this issue? Can't find any config file that has these.
ISSUE! I have 3 VIVE 3.0 trackers and got them to connect thanks to this video, but now one of my index controllers wont connnect at all, but when i disconnect one of the vive trackers the index controller connects, but now the third vive tracker won't connect. HELP!
I get the problem where it says I cant connect more trackers (as if theres a limit) No matter what I do I cant connect all 3 trackers AND my controllers, the problem is I was just connected and tracking fine 2 days ago but anytime i shut down my computer I have to do this shit all over again.
@@majincookie5716 Its not fixed I just deal with it, I think its only an issue for vive devices, funnily enough. I use my old rift s now and the issue was pretty much fixed but not entirely lol

What in the world can I do? I can’t paint more than 6 trackers and two controllers. I’ll have to disconnect two in order to connect the other two. WTF?
@@kawaiiotakuttv9447 I have, but it finally ended up connecting properly. I just had to directly plug the usb's into my usb hub that plugged into my wall and pc.
sadly that doesnt fix my problem, if my 2 index controllers are on, instead of allowing me to pick a different type of controller to pair, it brings up the "turn off one of your existing controllers" screen 5:43. its like my steam vr maxes out at 2 devices.
steamvr isnt seeing all of the dongles or you may have tried to pair the controllers more than once each. you will need to uninstall all steamvr devices and reconnect them one at a time (I recommend even unplugging the base stations and plug those back in one at a time i had the same issue as you and that helped me) try not to attempt more than one pairing for each device. Also, when you are plugging the dongles back in, wait for the notification that the dongle is ready for use before plugging in the next one.
I agree they are buggy BUT there is a way of getting them to work as they should. Usually people with issues are using it on oculus with space calibrator which isn't stable.. or using them on a USB hub, or on a motherboard with poor USB bandwidth. Also discord server links are dead. I deleted my server 🤷🏻
