I did this years ago. I took a look at it and thought I went way overboard pruning. Next few months, the tree responded well and produced a bounty of fruit. Be sure to trim the tree so that you can reach it easy too

Question our tree is about 10 years and was never trimmed to have a center opening. Is it too late to prune it so that it has a center opening?

The top half of my peach tree trunk had nothing branching off so I just pruned it off, should I have not done that and should I treat the trunk with anything. I had this happen with an apple tree last year and it did just fine. It's only a couple years old.
