On this episode, Los brings to the studio his Dwarf Gardenia Bonsai acquired from ordinary nursery stock from an orange big box store. Due to the growth nature of the gardenia, there will be a lot of branch selection to deal with. We want to eliminate branches that spur off into 3 or more down to just 2.
After branch selection, we can apply wire to the branches in order to pose the limbs to suit the style we are aiming for.
Later, we meet back up in Los' garden greenhouse for a quick repotting of his Lavender Star Flower (grewia occidentalis).
We come back a month or so for an update on the styling of the Dwarf Gardenia. Los decided that the first style wasn't to his liking. So he changed it up to a windswept style.
