A look at how we prune our Cucumber Plants for best production possible. and Yes, I know the intro is long on this video, so skip ahead to the video if you would like. ☺
Wow, I did this pruning what a difference from last week! I have tons of cucumbers! Thank you Patti! You are my go to for all our growing info. My mentor!
I am so glad I came across this vid. Thank you for making the parts if the plant as you trimmed them. This was a great visual. I've got to get outside and start trimming my cucumbers.
Now I understand. I had to search for an image of a growth point on a cucumber plant. This seems like it is the same method I already use for okra pruning. Many thanks!
Thank you for your video. I started my first veggie patch in September 2019 and its now March 2020. My cucumber plants weren't growing many cucumbers and now your video has shown me how to prune so i can get the most of my cucumbers. Hopefully now that ive pruned it, got rid of the half eaten leaves and leaves with larvae on it, hopefully itll grow really well.
I do this type of thing with my tomatoes. They get very tall. Thankyou for opening my eyes to doing this with the cucumbers. Your lovely and I love what your doing. Don't tell your lucky man I said that haha. All the best from Aussie.
"Tons of blueberries, I'm not walking down there cos of snakes, but 'pick your own' starts soon!" Haha. Thanks for the tips on growing cucumbers, I'll try that this year.
Very cool. Thanks for describing the different parts of the plant, and what exactly to prune. My cucumbers would just grow all over the place, I'll definitely try this instead.
Yeah I got lazy this year and did not prune ours like they needed. Great info here!! So many will enjoy this! New sub here for ya. Love your greenhouse :-)
Normally everytime I groe cucumber the plants die off but this year I have a good harvest but I never knew if they should be pruned . Thank you so much for this info .I wll sub your channel
I'm jealous of your Greenhouse. Awesome. How fun. Are you sisters or good friends? I love your videos. It would be awesome if you grew a few outside in a typical outdoor garden *not growing up a string*. Then make a video next year. That way I could get a better idea "how to" in my typical poor woman's garden. The pepper video took me a cpl times to watch to grasp since mine are not on a string. Still very informative and actually one worth viewing. Thank you. God Bless You Tube (and people like you) for teaching me about gardening. I wished I would have watched & learned more from my Grandparents when they were alive. All my knowledge has been aquired via You Tube videos.
+JK Harris we will do a video on regular gardening techniques at some point this season. Haili is my Daughter in-Law. RU-vid is a great place to learn! Thanks for watching and stay tuned for a gardening video just for you! ☺
+Kayleigh Gordon Yes, pruning cucumbers, especially when trellised makes for better production and allows ventilation through which keeps disease and bug problems to a minimum. Thanks so much for watching!
Where exactly is "nearby"? I looked to see where Springhill Farms is, but too many search results! lol. I heard mention of them having a "pick-your-own", but no idea if Im nearby... 😮
Wow that a lot of cukes and blueberry bushes!!! You’re so lucky! I planted my first garden this year and even though I hate hot humid weather, I found I had rather be outside doing garden work than monotonous housework!!!
Spring Hill Farms yes it is. It’s kind of hard on me because I have herniated and bulging discs but I’ve lost 45 pounds since January and it has helped me be able to do more things and for longer. I like the fact that when you do the jobs in the garden, you know you’ve accomplished something and when you’re done for the day, you’re done. Unlike housework where you look around at all the tedious things that need doing and you don’t know where to begin and there is no end!!
Love the geese story. Thank you for the information very clear and easy to understand, but, oh my, when you turn your to show other things, do it slowly. I got a bit sick. ;-) First time viewer. Thanks again!
Thanks for the video very helpful always get confused about how much and which side shoots to take out . Always amazes me how much more space you have in the US for growing and lovely weather compared to us in UK 👍
Thank you! We are actually in Canada. There is a new video we put up that explains pruning better. It is just a couple videos ago if you want to check it out.
Thanks for the reply. Sorry didn't realise you were in Canada I know Canadians don't like to be confused with Americans 😀. great channel. Youve got an amazing farm and growing set up. Thanks for sharing your growing advice . Just watched the pepper pruning one I'll do that to my plants now👍
@@Growwiththelaplantes .. I actually thought you were in Spring Hill Florida til I saw the hills...now I'm dissapointed because I was planning a visit! Best wishes from your Southern friends 🌞
