What I find helps on my old 2000 Polaris touring is to give a slight bit of throttle with my right arm and pull with my left arm for a cold start . Pretty much fires first time if I do that way.
Hey! You're going to break your cord if you keep doing it like that! You need to have the cord pulled out a bit so you can feel the resistance before you pull it hard, otherwise you will snap the cord of! But it's a good video man!👊
If you've pulled it a bunch and it's still not starting - undo the spark plugs and poor a little bit of gas into the spark plug hole. Might have to do a couple rounds of it. Will save you a ton of effort and a sore shoulder.
I always had to put my foot in the footwell because i would pull my mach z 780 back lol the compression of a triple when its cold is no joke. My honda fourtrax 300 also had a compression release but it was a kikstart. Good video!
You won’t break the cord… ha! I know your method works man, but on much older sleds be careful. Those cords rot. I once did this and went flying backwards when the cord snapped.
If you have an old sled for sure you got to be cautious... I really meant don't be scared of pulling on it. Girls feel resistance or anybody new to the sport and just that will scare them and they will get discouraged.
Take the plugs out and pour a couple of cups of pre-mix gas into each cylinder. Replace the plugs, don't forget the caps and at the second or third pull it should start.. even on the coldest days.
doobyboy21 Thanks so much! But I still can’t get it started if my life depended on it lol I’m pretty sure he bought this sled for a reason.. he’s a smarter man than he lets on sometimes 😝😂
My brother just traded his coleman bt200x for an arctic cat panther think its and 89 shit needs a fuel pump the pipe leaks gas and the dude who sold it put a 580 motor instead of tge stock 550 and my brother was told he has to put the gas in where one of the spark plugs is I tried using the method me and him rapping rope around 3 or 4 times around clutch I had it going and he got it going but wouldn't stay running we got it to Rev up but it barely moved took an hour or more of doing that and my dad looked at it said it needs air filters but there's no place to put one cuz tge type motor the guy put in the dude blocked my brother ripped him off big time my brother sold him a 6 or 700 dollar bike that turns great still really new told my brother not to do the deal but shit happens.
Well some people need some guidance. You are trying to blow away the confidence people have in themselves. Pull starting a sled especially on cold days (even for men) is a pita and you know it.
Yes but no. Im just trying to be honest here. I realize some people can't pull start, but most should be cause I'm 15 and me and my buddies can all pull are older (98-02) machines with one hand sitting on the sled. I know some little girls at my school that can pull start
@@logmanfarmsfs8822 old snowmobiles are easier to pull start. They ain't got as big motors and aren't as fine tuned. I ride a 96 but whenever I try to pull my uncle's newer 600 it's a pain in the ass.
It not gonna blow up from pulling it to hard just put the choke lever all the way up and pull until it starts then flip the choke all the way down its not that hard
This was intended for a female audience that are probably intimidated by the compression stroke. I show how to overcome this issue. So why are you here ?
