This video shows you how to pump up a tire with a hand tire pump. A hand tire pump is a very simple tool that you can use to pump air into the tires of your car or bicycle. To use a hand tire pump to pump air into a tire, first remove the tire valve cap by turning it counterclockwise. Next, put the Pump nozzle onto the air valve and press it down and then quickly lift up the lever to lock it into place. Next, put your feet on the bottom of the pump to stabilize it, and then use the handle to pump air into the tire. A good tire pump will have an air gauge on it, and you can look at the air gauge to see how much pressure is in the tire. The side of the tire will tell you the maximum tire pressure, but most tires work best with less air than the maximum, so check with your car manufacturer, or the tire manufacturer to find out exactly what the best tire pressure is. Usually for most cars, it is between 35 and 40 psi. When you have reached the desired pressure, push down the lever on the nozzle and pull it off of the tire valve, and then screw the cap back onto the air valve in a clockwise direction.
