In this video we talk about tips tricks and steps to get you punting footballs higher, farther, and more consistent. Punting footballs, being a punter, and having a good punt only comes through a lot of practice. Being able to play high school football is one thing, punting at a D1 college football is another, and punting a football in the NFL is extremely challenging as there are only 32 spots.

My HS team won’t have a punter next year. I’m a junior this year, and a senior next year. I haven’t played football since middle school, but I’m thinking of trying out to play punter! I’ve found that I’ve got naturally good form and kicking when punting, and who knows, maybe I’ve found a good way to involve myself in sports again! This video has definitely helped!!

Good job kid. I’m going into my senior year and I regret not doing both kicking and punting. I would work on your kicking, at least your kickoffs. There are a lot of punters at the higher levels who send kickoffs for their teams(Bryan Anger is a good example) I am a place kicker but I’m working on my punting for this season. @@charlie.tstn8 yeah fs, Im in highschool right now and just played my freshman season, id say to keep your drop low, and try not to wrap around the ball when you try to punt, just keep everything in a straight line, also don't try and kill the ball because usually if you just get solid ball contact the ball will go farther than it would if you just punted it as hard as you could with bad ball contact. i’ve never played football in a league in my life (always been a soccer player) but i go to a park sometimes and punt/kick the ball and i love doing it. i’m trash (longest punt i’ve done is 40 yards 😂) but i hope to improve a lot from watching YT! tysm for this great vid 🙏🏻

What actually helped me get it to turn over more often was to say two things in my head before every punt. "Lock out with your cock out" "Point your toe, where you wanna go". Helped me lock out properly and keep my foot straight - that really helped with the shanking issue that I had. Also that tipp to focus on the third lace is gold! Helped me explode through the football way better.

Very interesting… as a rugby fan from Ireland there is definitely a player pathway into US College football for kickers and punters . Rugby players place kick and punt and we also have Gaelic Football here too which is like Australian Rules but with a round ball , these guys would make good punters also they and rugby players are ballers and could carry and tackle

I tend to "crunch" too much prior to making contact with the ball. Are there any specific drills or do you have any tips to help me get my right (kicking leg) hip up and through the ball? Thank you in advance for your reply.

I went to city college of San Francisco tried for the punter position since I heard they needed help . I saw it as my window of opportunity of joining the team ( one week away from playing their first game ) . Coach said he was watching me from a distance and told me come back next January 1st . I'll talk to him tomorrow and let him know I want to be a linebacker even quarterback I'm a leader . I'm going to make that team and make it to a 4 year and will be in the draft by 2028 look out for me .

Great Video My sons in 7th Grade & played soccer since 3 he recently decided he wanted to start practicing Kicking FGs & Punting he wants to play HS football when he gets there he currently punts around 50 yards & hits 30-35yd FGs 90% accurately he picked up on it very quickly Any more tips you could give to add Hangtime or FG distances? My dad was saying I need to try out for anything as a punter, He has about a 50 yard back yard and I can fairly easily punt over his 60ft maple tree and to the back fence. I don't think I'm all that good but he's hell bent on me training it, lol.

I really don’t know what I’m struggling with. I’m the typa punter that doesn’t follow through that much and the tip of my foot gets right between my stomach and chest. Sometimes my foot contact is off. And sometimes my drop is off. But I practice my drop almost every day and the farthest I’ve punted was 45 yards with a idek hang but I booted it. But that was a rare occurrence. Thanks for tips. I’ll try to see if they work out for me. If not idrk what’s next
