Hi! The fellowship that Samhita mentioned could be the NIUS programme conducted by Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education(TIFR). I was a recipient and it's a very good programme for first year undergraduate students. Just want to spread the information. You have to attend a camp from which they'll select you for project work for three vacations. So you will start working from your first year summer. Usually it's 2 summers and 1 winter. VSRP is another one but conducted by TIFR.

Working on gre subject test(chemistry) and scoring well(above 85th or 90th percentile) is the best way to get into the best universities in the USA. This helps most of us who are from not that well known institutions.

Sir!!!! I would like to know that... If we drop a year after msc just to get engaged in some sort of research... Would that experience increase the chance of acceptance? Is it worthy to do so??
