We couldn't put drops in my German Shepherd, he bit us everytime. So, we took him to the vet. The vet had 4 people to help him, but they couldn't. Finally, he had to put him in a smallest cage he could fit. But, he started rolling in that cage 😂😂😂 The vet said he has never seen a dog like mine. I took that as a compliment !
Wish you would show a video of how to clean and medicate a squirming screaming Papillon who does not want his painful ears touched! LOL Seriously can you make a video of that?
Kinda weird how my dogs don’t struggle when I give them medication. I’ve had them for four years now, and one of them since he was a puppy. I’ve created monsters 🤣
My 16 pound Shih Tzu Apache won't hold still, but your lifting the ear was new information I really appreciate and lifting will help keep him from running away. I just read some comments and I see I'm not alone. Good video, mahalo from Hawaii
Recently my dog got an ear infection. My 85 lb boxer who is basically compliant will not let me put Animax ointment or Posatex in his ears because he's in pain and very defensive and yes has threatened to bite me. My husband plays wrestles him to exhaustion and then puts all his weight to hold his body and head/mouth still while I put the meds in. It's insane.

What an incredibly well behaved dog. Getting ready to give my dog ear meds after a $300 vet visit. Hopefully the hydrocortizone treatment will stop him from turning away after I start petting his head and shaking his head so often.
Ay! I’ve a powerhouse active 90 pound hoss of a yellow lab. The vet and two assistants plus me (185 pound man who used to play football and lift weights), as in, four people, could not hold him down. She then sent me on my dog Happy on our way saying “maybe you’ll have better luck at home when he’s in more familiar surroundings.” Uhhh, no. Nope. Only now it’s just me trying to wrestle a dog who can literally pull me and my nephew on a sled for blocks. I seriously have no idea how to do this so now am looking on ways to make dogs sleepy using meds you can get for dogs who have anxiety during thunderstorms and fireworks. This IS a good video, mind you, but c’mon, they gave this pupper something.
I use the ear drops, because my dog doesn't seem to like placing a hard platic tube down his painful infected ear. It's still no fun for either us. Actually, it sucks for both of us. I'm thinking of marrying a dog technician or vet. I'll do the house cleaning and cooking, if I don't have to do this again.
Mine 25 kilograms of pooch goes berserk when he sees me with a bottle and starts to behave like mad- I have to put a muzzle on him and even this is a task itself, cause he tries to bite it, so I need to find a window when he doesn't squirm and shuts his jaws, so I can put it on. Rest is trying to striking home in both of his ear canals, and then we are home, cause he goes calm when I take the muzzle off and let me massage his ears. True circus XD
Yeah this hints r GREAT when u have a dog can chill and collected as the dog shown. But 4 dogs who aren't that happy about these types of things being done to them and that are extremely skittish (thanks to whatever the vet has done to him previously at their offices relating to both his ears & eyes. Caused him 2 have major issue with even me attempting to give aide 2 either of those areas) How could giving medication to the ears be made easier 4 these types of dogs with these nervous behaviors??? This looks extremely handy with a week behaved pup but one with issues not so much.. Thanks
Is it ok to clean his ear before putting the medicine in it. He’s 159 lb. Mastiff and he hates ear meds. He’s not nasty at all just not too cooperative.
I also have a dog which kicks and squirms and won't put up with it. I have a millisecond to try to apply the ear canal ointment before he tries to break loose. Goliath is a rotweiler mix and is very strong. Your sedated dog doesn't help me to get this done.
My dog's ears been infected for too long because of that my dog run, hide, and growls at me everytime I try to touch and apply medication for his ears it's not very easy for me. 😟
My dog can just see the ear drop bottle and freak out, he’s only 25lbs but it’s a struggle and I don’t want him to be a afraid of me so what makes it easier when there really fussy?
Totally useless video. duh . How do you do it humanely on an 80 lb. pup with sore ears and avoid all the trauma especially when You have to do it several days in a row, and not get bit. He's a good dog and doesn't normally try to bite, but freaks out when I try to do anything to his ears. Could muzzle him but he doesn't like that either.
Couldn’t see where they’re squeezing the ear cannal. 1st ear looked like she might be squeezing behind the ear, but on the 2nd ear it looked like she was squeezing in front and back of the ear cannal🤷♂️ Camera work not the greatest. But it’s better than nothing. Thank you

My dog has an ear infection and doesn't let me touch his ear how am I supposed to put the medicine in.? He is a 86 pound dog I don't wanna hurt him trying to stop him from jamming this stuff down his ear.
I let my dog smell it really calm several times. He licks it a little bit. I sit next to him on the floor as if I am going to cuddle. But I did it like this from the beginning. Because my other dog runs away when I want something from her.

My dog is 115lbs and he leans his entire body weight toward said ear so it's laying on the ground. Then when I finally get it in, he shakes over and over and over again so his medicine Flys out and his ear infection never fully heals. Doesn't help the vet gives you the smallest bottle so it doesn't last long and is expensive. I feel like my dog will never not have an ear infection
Never use regular water. My vet prescribed an ear cleaning solution, to use twice a day for five days. Then only from the sixth day should I begin the treatment with medication - no more cleaning needed.
Oh yeah My german shepherd Is the worst when it comes to putting stuff in his ears He cry is like a baby Acts like i'm beating him lol And i'm barely touching the ear As soon as I press squeeze on the bottle he starts freaking out and crying Funniest damn thing But I always wondered why he kept having ear infections Soon after the medication was out Because the vet never told me How to correctly insert the medication And no it doesn't tell you on the bottle The bottle just tells you how many times a day you're supposed to do it
I know. Who here actually clicked this video to watch how to drop droplets into an ear?? We got that part down. Im sure 99% of us are trying to figure out how to do this with a dog that wont sit still or runs away
Not helpful. Like seeing you across the room from where the camera is helps. Also a model of the ear structure and how to manipulate the ear to lengthen it is important. I always have to look up before a new medicine which way to manipulate the ear because I forget. And it's opposite of how you do ear medicine for a cat.
My dog lets me do it without any issues. He’s a golden doodle. Literally does not care at all and he has a pretty bad fungal infection in his ear. I see all the complaints about aggressive breeds, like chihuahuas and German shepherds.
