Ok, so your fans want you to buy a Toddy XL, and demonstrate how you get THAT one to line up... its SO FRUSTRATING. It will NOT line up. It isnt a 180 turn. (from 12 oclock position to the 6 oclock position as demonstrated)...... it keeps turning easily and stops RIGHT at the most INCONVENIENT 9oclock position!!! LOL I swear they made them differently.

@@PennieLane17 I just got my toddy XL today, and the lid goes ALMOST all the way around, NOT a 180 turn like the cups they are using. UGGGH. If you place the mouth piece away from you while holding the cup (12 oclock position) you SHOULD only turn it to the 6 oclock position according to the "turn 180 and its perfect!!" instructions. HOWEVER, with the Toddy XL, it goes all the way around, to the 9 position!!! GRRRRRR!! I hate it already...... I've watched the Brumate youtube channel, and still doesnt work they way he shows it. :(

nope.. not working, doesn't matter where it starts.. sometimes it goes 360.. other times it goes 180 but NEVER lands where it's supposed to. I actually had hubby try it.. the neighbor tried it and we aren't idiots. I tossed it in the cupboard.. worst investment I made recently...
OMG I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!!! So, hold the cup with the handle in your right hand, place the lid with the mouth piece facing you. From that position, screw it around and it will land AROUND where the handle is. THEN...... Place the fingers on your left hand on the side of the mouth hole, and at that ridge PULL the lid more "clockwise" to twist the mouth piece to be closer to where you'll want to drive from. It WILL BE TIGHT, (but will loosen with time), but screwing it using that "ridge" for your fingers, you can get that close to the "5 o'clock" position and eventually it will screw around to the 6 oclock position!!!
I have th eToddy XL--the lid does not turn to the side even following the instructions here. It ends up on the side of the handle and not the side which makes drinking from it extremely annoying. I see others have issues with this size as well. Thank you
Same here. I even bought a new one to see if the old one was faulty. Nope. The opening keeps ending up over the handle. I'm done. Thanks for the great video though!
Same issue...the trick is when you get to the spot that it stops the first time, you have to really push hard on that last little turn. Much harder than I assumed. I just got my cups and am hoping it gets a little easier after use.
😂 I haven’t been able to open mine for days. My husband can’t open it My 16 yr old that can bench 340 lbs hates the cup when I would take it to him prior to it being permanently stuck he struggled to open it Now none of us can get the darn thing off ( I’ve been pouring my drinks thru the hole! 😢😢 I came to RU-vid for help 😢😂😢😂Lol it’s true WHAT CAN I DO😢I PAID ALLOT FOR THIS CUP ( I had to have) but someone help😂
I’m sending the XL back. Had to get a random landscape guy to get it off for me, and I still can’t get it back on and lined up properly. I shouldn’t have to watch videos to figure out a damn lid to a cup anyway. The design of this thing sucks. Thanks your video; I just wish I could it to work.
🇦🇺That’s guys. We’ve had ours for several days. Followed your instructions and found that (with ours) the rubber seal actually needs to be convinced tighten a bit more so I used a smidge of oil to get it to the right place without using too much pressure. Hope your baby is great and you might even have another on their way.😊
Well I can get it on but no matter what I do I either have to drink with the handle in my face or have the handle opposite. No drinking from the sides.
@@almostoutdoors That's all I've done. My daughter has several of these and it was a gift from her. She showed me how to do it but even she couldn't do it.

I have a toddy in dark aura that I use almost daily. I have a hard time getting the lid on, have to use butter around the rim to get it to close to the proper spot, then for the life of me, I can't get it off. It takes my husband and I both together to get it to come off. I guess that is one good reason to keep him around! Thanks for the video though.
if you watch the youtube video on the Brumate youtube channel he talks about how to take it off with hand/palm placement and where to grab the lid..... it made ALL the difference!!! There is a little "lip" on the top of the lid you use for leverage.
@@debipowell9509 I ordered another brumate toddy and that one's lid comes off so easily. I love love love the mugs. It is just that one. I watched all the videos and even tried changing out the seal placement. Still gets stuck. SO weird!
I have the Brumate Hopsulator for regular cans. I use it for hot coffee, tea and cocoa along with cold drinks or cans. You need a video how make the mouth piece on it face the flat sides where it's thinner. I can only get mine to face the rounded direction which is wider. Please help with a video. :-) That may be why you go so much feedback. Different container same company it turns further than 180° on the hopsulators. Thank you!
I just bought several of these. I need to stop using disposable coffee cups so I am investing in these. Plus I am planning on taking these with me when I go backpacking/hiking/camping. AND......your wife is so pretty. You guys are so sweet. Love that the kids are in there causing all kinds of chaos and disruption, it makes it feel like we are sitting in your house with you. HAHA!
Super frustrating! Can't get the freakin lid "off" to save my life! Tried following the video instructions and still nothing! I even tried popping it off, but didn't want to damage the seal. Can someone please HeLP?!?
Rec'd mine yesterday and I'm in love with it. Bought this specifically because it could be for left or right handed folk. I'm a leftie. I don't understand why there's so much anger out there about these. Both of your videos plus the one from the manufacturer, explain exactly how to use it. I originally bought the ones from iron flask which are made for right handed folk only. I'm giving those away to family. Both of your videos about this are great.Thanks for sharing.
