literally practiced this vid for like 10 mins, was really easy after binding lean to side mouse buttons. started actually dropping some rolls on the board
Bro this is exactly what I needed. Decided today I was gonna learn to quick peak. Tried to figure it out myself. Just happened to find this video, I changed my key binds cuz I couldn’t find a pattern, thanks for showing me man. Love this shit. Thanks a billion. Gonna practice like hell and become god on r6 fr fr😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Honestly, I feel like the "advanced" peek technique is more complex for the sake of being more complex, only really achieving some kind of placebo effect (which is fine). Just leaning and properly doing the basic AD movement while exposing the minimum amount of your hitbox is just as efficient and probably more consistent. I see so many players do too much spammy movement just to look flashy and it's not really providing any additional advantage. I will say this though, getting good at all techniques has value, because it gives you confidence that you can perform any movement that's possible without thinking about the button/key strokes required, which leads to more fluid movement in general.
u're kinda right here but think of it as what would be quicker - moving your entire arm or hand? (speaking of mouse). So leaning is kinda like moving ur head instead of whole body. What might be arguible is leaning out of angle to hide your head faster, however I'm still sure that at some ranks it will be helpful.
I largely agree with what you said but as much as I dislike how stupid spamming controls looks I have to admit that it is slightly advantageous as your character's head goes behind cover quicker since not only strafing to move your whole body at once but you're also leaning from one side to the other with your upper body. again, it's only a slight advantage even if it feels much faster than it is and as you said standard strafe or the normal quick peek is more than enough to peek while making yourself a harder target to hit.
The efficiency jump of between the 1st and the 2nd technique is huge comparing to the transition from 2nd to the 3rd. When you know both advanced methods, many players advice to go with whichever you prefer. Personally, even though I use the Shaiko peek, I find the 2nd to be the easier one, however, from time to time you may miss the timing and get stuck in place what does not end up well when in a gunfight.
@@m.e.h.8304 I agree with the point that you're moving back to cover faster because you're strafing your body and moving your head from the lean at the same time, vice just strafing. This however does not explain the advantage of the advanced peek because you're essentially animation canceling the movement of the head back to the neutral position to lean back into the direction of the peek. If you're too twitchy with it, you're negating the benefit of the head moving back to cover faster. You can argue the intermediate or "beaulo" peek has the advantage for serving the speed purpose.
Hold to lean is underrated af. I feel like many people prefer toggle, because they dont like to press two keys with one finger, but once you get used to it, leaning and quickpeeking (especially intermediate) is a lot faster, since you dont have to press the key twice to get back to cover, and the middle finger stays free to move forward and backwards at the same time. I gotta admit though, it leaves more room for mistakes, like accidentally sliding off the second key or pressing it longer than intended.
nine months after the vid came out, tried the technique and found it easier to do the wobble peek by simply sliding my fingers down A->Q and E->D. way easier than doing that tap dancing routine you tried teaching. Requires way less skill to do it this way too. Thanks for at least putting a guide out and helping me reach that revelation though.
Im kinda cringe and i have my leans on my side mouse buttons so i don't turn my left hand into a pretzel while misclicking every single button involved in quickpeeking. Genuinely makes it easier for me. plus i get to have my side gadget on q and melee on e, which i like.
whatever works for you, some people even put it on shift and space or whatever is easily reachable using their thumb it's just that people generally don't map buttons on their mouse for something that they'd use mid gunfight like leaning cuz it can mess with their aim, but a large portion especially those who come from console prefer your layout since it feels more familiar.
I personally have the binds for leaning on C and V, as misclicking spacebar means nothing in a game where ‘vaulting’ comes in only at locations where it’s possible with no standing jump
Thank you for this everytime I play with my homie he’s like bro you suck a quick peaking truth is I never cared for it until today I was sitting here think “why not let me learn to quick peak rq” so thank you
Huge help Pox, although I'm about to bastardize this to all hell, seeing as my keyboard is too flat and high up to hit A and Q at the same time, one finger totally blocks the other. So I'll keep on doing the intermediate peek to peek right, and start the advanced peek to peek left. What could go wrong, amirite?
Dude I’ve been trying to find a video on how to do it because I’ve been doing it wrong the whole time peeking stupid corners because I think it’s a common spot to set up an angle and then I just leave my whole side exposed and get blasted
Hello, yesterday i got shot mid quick peek and im not too sure what the issue is bc im doing it fast enough and i didnt swing too wide and im starting to think maybe i was too close to the doorway, is that a possibility?
it totally depends on your computer if vulkan works great with your system then you'll get an fps boost if that is needed, but if not it might perform worse than the dx11. Also the difference would be less noticeable the higher your graphics settings are so just try both, benchmark them and see which one works best for you.
Also it's worth noting, from my experience at least that the better version may vary from update to update since. I used to play with vulkan on my laptop and it gave me like a 10fps boost but after one season it became unstable and I started using dx11 instead. Might be due to some bugs or something else idk.
this is impossible idk how u guys do it im new and i jus cant fathom taking my middle finger off w for q+e while simultaneously hitting a + d doesnt make sense
I would love if the slowed down the leaning even more. With peekers advantage and not playing on lan i truly hate dying to a guy i never see. Then on killcam see he quickpeeked but i never saw a pixel of him and boom hs. How is it a fair fight if ppl can watch around corners so fast they dont even show up your screen on your end xD
