Thanks for the great video. Do you have a video on using the Nanovna to measure inductance? I would like to know the circuit that you've built that measures at 50 ohms when the inductance is correct. Thanks and 73.
I don't have a video but if I have a little free time I will make one. I don't trust so much the inductance measurements on the nanoVNA comparing it to a proper LC meter, because there are too many variables that may be wrong. And is a bit annoying to measure with the nanoVNA... too many settings to go through and calibrations. But... is better than nothing 😃.
Nice vid sir .thank u . By the way one video about how using gang capacitor or tuning variable cap wil be helpfull and with what other component can we remplace it if we cannot find it thank u
Always a pleasure. Can you just explain a little more about what exactly would you like to see regarding the variable capacitor ? I couldn't understand exactly sorry )).
I am new to this and not fully understand everything but your videos are helping a lot. I have one question. We measured the Inductance of L3. But how do we measure how many turn for L2 the pre amp coupler or transformer? Thanks again for the great videos.
That is a bit more complicated. For a regen receiver as example... if I would have 24 turns for the main coil... the antenna coil would have about 6-8 turns. If the main coil would be 50 turns... the antenna coil would be around 8-12 turns. If the coil itself is used as transformer... and the ones for regen receivers in this case as well... it depends very much of the impedance between stages. For a regen receiver we can "play by ear" and figure out things with trial on error... but if it was a transformer for an RF power amp... I don't think I would do that ))). This is something I also need to learn a little more about as I need more knowledge.
Well built... a metalic front panel connected to the negative of the circuit should me more than enough. On mine I have no screening at all. There was no need for that.
