Hello Dr Sarah ! I don't really know anything about the regions in the UK and I'm kinda lost and not really sure how to go about ranking my preference of UofA. I want to pick a place that's more of a walkable city with good public transportation since I don't drive, close to an airport and one that is not that competitive but still has a good learning environment. Would you happen to have any tips ?

Are you able to see the job options before ranking deaneries? I really want a specific specialty job that isn't widely offered, so would be really useful to know which deaneries are offering this post!
Hi Dr. Sarah, i cannot thank you enough for making this guide. It was super helpful for an IMG like me and I got allocated to my top deanery. But I have a question about ranking jobs/placements: Do I just drag and drop my preferences>click Save>logout>wait for the results in April? Maybe its just me being a complete noob using Oriel and all, but it feels a bit odd that there's no further "confirmation" page/steps whatsoever after clicking "save". Hope you can help shed some light on this!
Hi! Congratulations on getting your top choice 👍 I'm really glad you found it helpful. From memory, last year we were able to make changes to our ranking choices until the deadline when this was no longer possible. We didn't get a confirmation email before then. If I were you, I would still double check if there's been any changes to that this year but I would be surprised. Just make sure you've saved it!
Hello, I’ll graduate from the University in July 2023 and l am planning to take plab1 and plab2 as soon as possible I know it will be impossible for me to apply for the foundation program 2023, so I’m planning to apply for foundation program 2024, my question is it tough for IMG to get into a foundation program, If I’ve done several publications and managed to get a high score in Sgt what will be my fortunes to get into the foundation program in the UK?

That's a great question. Unfortunately I don't really have the answer. If I were you, I would pick certain locations you are considering and find the junior doctors facebook group for that particular hospital. You'll likely get more specific feedback that way!
Great deanery, good variety of coast, country and city. But to be honest, there isn't a 'good' or 'bad' deanery. It all depends on your criteria and what your priorities are. You can get quality training anywhere in the UK. Hope that helps
