Wear all gold when you start getting them, keep the higher pieces (purples/blues) in your inventory; say one of each type (chest, weapon, pants, etc). You will still get drops at your level, one below or 1-2 higher. Dismantle the lower GS items as you find better ones. Switched from only wearing the best gearscore items to this method and it works great. Better since you're never under powered. I'm at GS 244, pyrexiad on XB1.
I just play faction missions and side missions daily and my gear score is going up..i havent play main missions because i wanna play it last so i can focus on the story.
hmmm...I'll try that, thanks.... I've done only story missions, and as my XP level is increasing nicely, my gear score is still lower than other players I see in Erewhon
You can literally just get blueprints for guns and attachments and completely avoid the main mission and get gear score really quickly. I'm still on the intro mission and have a 170 GS
I'm confused about Master gear, I'm not ranking up any more I have been playing for a couple days now and all l have been doing is playing alone because there are too many goofballs doing their own thing! I haven't been following the main quest because I like to wander around from place to place! Is that why? Also I did not get the achievement when I was level 10! I am now just level 30.
Im not sure if you're referring to the gear score itself but yeah like he mentioned at some point the game gets real stingy with gear score drops. There are ways to farm to get to that 250. From 220 to 240 you can farm the 250 Behemoth. Then from there to get to 250 either do faction missions or farm a 250 wolves camp. Wolves will drop 2 points higher than your current gear score.

whats annoying is the system seems they were gonna add in blueprints for gear but they never did why add gear dismantling but not gear upgrading and gear blueprints maybe they'll add it in the future im currently 173 gear level and it goes up slowly. Edit: if you're a sniper like myself i recommend the Scorpio you can get nearly no bulletdrop at all from distances upto around 600-700 meters i believe when fully maxed out and using the sniper perks.
Trokan ZMMG lmao I finally learned that it’s random when you buy from weapons on demand at the shop or Maria’s. So it’ll randomly come blue, purple or gold but your gear score has to be higher to get yellow stuff. It’s called rolling for guns in the game. Yea it’s dumb and cost a lot of money trying to get the yellow stuff but hey can’t do much about how the game operates. Hope this helps

@@wabbasshahid9467 look on RU-vid how to play raids effectively. There are pro players showing how to do it and they have discord where you can join. That’s how i did it.

The only downside is that you can get lower lvls to. You have a 224 gun. And then you get a 223. Same in the gear. I had it several times that I got lower gear.
Hi guys, I'm new to the game, i have a quick question if anyone could help me out, i did put some hours into the game but with gear level off, now if i want to switch it on in the middle of the game, do i have to build it up from scratch or anything that i picked up so far will reflect on the gear level ? I really don't want to start a new game. Hope someone can help me out here
Is anyone getting WHALERS -00301 error message on the PS4, I get it probably 10 times per session it almost makes play impossible especially the faction missions due to the server kicking you out the game because of connectivity issues, it's infuriating, always online for solo pve is pure bullshit for this game. I'm going to try port forwarding and see if it helps. Any help from you guys is much appreciated 🙏👌
I haven’t figured out when do the damn bandages go away and for what reason? Do you have to go back to the base of operations or what? I mean I like the realistic feel but damn I want to see the cool shit I put on too!
Unfortunately I think it's in game time based..idk how long..but I guess it depends on the state you were in of your injury (critical, severe, minor)..the smaller the state of injury, the shorter time..idk hour long though
Thanks for getting back to me. Maybe it’s because I keep taking damage in my fire fights so I just continue sustaining the damage to need them. I appreciate your video because I was focusing on my PC level. I’m assuming that’s just to get the skill points. After I watched your video I did my own testing. My gear score was around 25 and I sniped a level 180 with a head shot 1 shot one kill. Then I made a body shot on his partner who took hardly no damage. Then I made the same body shot to an AI my gear score, 1 shot 1 kill. So gear score is the defining factor not PC level like you said. I wish they would have made that more clear. And as soon as I started equipping the higher gear score items not worrying about stats or my PC level higher gear score items started dropping. I’ve watched plenty of videos on this game but your the only one who really made it clear.
@m_train Gaming no it doesn't. It hits lower as it can't hit through the armour. It will still 1 hit HS'. But you will killed faster as your armour is weak. So yes gear scores do matter

YerokA ASregor I wish man, I wasted 10+ hours stuck at lv. 42 because of not having a second weapon. but trust when I say you’ll get used to it, and it’ll double your gear score as well. Maybe tomorrow’s update will change that but no promises...
The Yellow "Elite" gear will begin to appear around Gear Level 110 and after. They will still be rare drops even into the 200's, you will be getting mostly purple throughout your loot hunting
1-20 = White 20-50 = Green 50-80 = Blue 80-120 = Purple 120+ = Yellow This isn't 100% accurate, but this seems to be the most common areas of these tiers..that being said Elites (yellow) isnt guaranteed from 120+, it's just easier to come by than being under 120
I get all that but the. The weapons damage is the same.. I no it Affects the quality of your drops .. the higher your gear score the more likely you are to get purple and yellow.. But I don’t understand if the enemy is 189 score and you are 120. They kick yr ass!!!!!So it has to do something for your armor value. I’m not sure??? I would like an official explanation

@xbloodblade it's different onthe sharpshooter for some reason..I was able to complete within a few minutes on the panther class..but on sharpshooter, it took me hours and I'm pretty sure it was because that challenge is bugged..I made a video on it though
Find a spot with an enemy cap close to a bivouac, then buy 7 sync shot drones, mark and use them from about 400m out, used this method on panther after killing random patrols with sharpshooter

considering you can one tap anybody in the dome piece gear score means jack, the game forces me to stay at a low-level gear score because I like and choose to run one primary yet I've completed all the 100+ gear score missions and drone areas. I'm assuming it will lock me out of the "raid" but tbh I couldn't care less because RDR2 is out on PC next month and this game will collect dust. The Devs fucked up big time adding loot and gear score garbage to the game because no matter what level gear you have you can do all the things the "big dogs" can do.
