Before heading to Adi Kailash, make sure to obtain an Inner Line Permit from either Pithoragarh or Dharchula, as there are multiple army checkpoints along the route to the base camp. You can either get the permit yourself or connect with an agent who can handle all the paperwork for you.

Documents required
• Aadhar card
• 3 passport size photos
• Covid 19 vaccination certificate
BD Hospital counters 28 & 29 will help you get the below
• Physical fitness certificate from a government hospital
• Receipt of government hospital
• Notarized affidavit on Rs 30 stamp paper
• Police verification
Once you have all the above documents you’ll receive the INNER LINE PERMIT, which is only valid for 4 days. To maximize your time, request the officials to begin the permit's validity from the day you start your journey to Napalchu, Gunji, or any base camp for Adi Kailash/Om Parvat. If you’re starting your trip today, ensure the validity starts immediately.
Approximately 70% of the road is well-paved, offering smooth driving conditions. However, the remaining sections are currently under construction, presenting challenges such as landslides and steep inclines. Our Maruti Ignis faced its own trials, getting stuck three times at different points along the route. With teamwork and determination, we pushed through, navigating elevated roads that were still in progress, covered only with pebbles.
Despite these obstacles, the views were nothing short of spectacular! The surrounding landscapes unfolded in majestic beauty, making every twist and turn worth the effort. From lush valleys to towering peaks, each moment captured on camera tells a story of resilience and awe-inspiring natural wonders.
