according to many legal wepsites promissory note is three party instrument that includes drawee, drawer and payee. and other says it's two party instrument. can someone explain it to me?

Yes, there exist this principle: "Ubi jus ibi remedium", but you must remember that there is another maxim of equity and that is "Vigilantibus non-doriementibus jura sub veniunt" that means law aids those who are vigilant not those who are indolent ( sleep over their rights). In addition to that, it was the object of the Limitation Act, 1908 that litigations should bring into a fixed timeframe as it will reduce the burden of judicry and will protect the rights of those parties who have acquired those rights bonafidely. He can avail that right by defending his right, being a defendant in any suit that has been instituted against such a person. Besides, he may do any out-of-court settlement etc., for getting back that right.
