Ever had trouble understanding those detailed concrete drawings?
You're not alone. As a fellow structural engineer, I've been there too.
Let's talk about it. When you're starting out, those concrete plans can seem really complicated. But here's the thing - it doesn't have to be that way.
In this video, I'm breaking down the layers of concrete documentation to show you how simple it really is.
Understanding concrete plan drawings isn't just something you'll sometimes use. It's really important for structural engineering. And this video will help you do it confidently, whether you're new or experienced.
But why should you care? Well, imagine this - no more confusion when you see a new set of drawings. No more guessing what they mean. Just confidence in your ability to understand them.

The 2 N16 bars in the top of the beam in section 1.5 should be in the same layer as the slab bars. The cover to the reinforcement in the sections looks less than required.

Hello Gabriel. This is really insightful and very much understandable. Thanks alot. Permit me to deviate a bit, I realized timber structures are really common in australia. is there a way you could do a video on that and also educate us on some really good softwares for timber structures.

I graduated in Civil engineering in Brazil and came right after, 4 years ago. In Australia I got a Cert 3 in Carpentry and working with this for the last 3 years. I am planning to try to go back to the engineering. That is any tip that you could get me to this process? Congrats for the channel 🤟

carpentry is a cool profession but too hard on the body. Choose the field you want to go back to. Start studying about it and networking. Don't rush things, it will take a little while, so be patient. It won't be easy, but in the long run it will be worth it. Let me know how you go.
