I'm born Christian but never in my life read the Bible in detail, but today I've decided to start reading bible right from the beginning, may the almighty God help me understand his word deeply.
It’s funny I would read your comment today, as I know many things about the Bible hearing things from my mother and grandmother but have never actually never read the Bible. There are so MANY names especially in Genisis, that it seems overwhelming. I just feel like I want to read everything Jesus has actually said first. Not that the rest is not important.

I just had an interesting thing happen. I am new to trying to read the Bible. I have the King James Version. When Daniel said to start with the New Testament, rather than the Old Testament, I went to my Bible to put my bookmark at where the New Testament starts. I opened my Bible without knowing exactly where the New Testament started, and I happened to open it right where the New Testament begins! I was definitely surprised. I feel like God guided me to where I needed to be. Praise God!

Daniel - having been a Christian for a long time, this is the BEST INTRO I have seen - speaking to new Christians. I like where you followed the statement "say it, show it" in video. I had to laugh when you "got up in the morning" to read your Bible. Great acting! I do that too....in the morning. I agree with starting with New Testament, especially with John. This is great! In showing what you say, reading quietly in your room, you showed the important thing: to pray first, and ask the Lord to show you what it all means (since he inspired it, he can!) Thank you for emphasising context, (the rest of the chapter). We eventually learn to recognise all the other sections the bible has on any particular subject, so we don’t get a biased view on a topic. You are so right about not just picking one bit. I often wish they weren’t dotted about through all the bible! We have to remember who wrote these words and when. It was a very different culture to ours and there are many things in the bible that seem strange before we discover what these things are. You’re right, a good concordance helps, and a commentary. The little references in small type are a help in finding what else the bible has to says on a subject. It’s a lot to weigh up, and there is no substitute for diving in. I’ve found there are some useful reading plans that give you a structure to follow, with some Old, and some New Testament every day, and some psalms. This helped me not to get bogged down in the Old Testament too much. For me the biggest hurdle was wanting to do it all right, with reading plans and colouring, and then not getting started at all for a while, overwhelmed by not doing it right. We must remember this is God’s way of speaking to us now, and with his help we will find him in the pages of the a bible. He promised that when we search for him with our whole heart, he will be found. I love that.
Also how do I know if I can trust my gf every time I see her she's on Facebook some guy called her out of the blue then I look at her friends list it looks like mostly dudes and maybe a few women but she's Catholic she acts strange sometimes saying what ever happened to her passion for me

The pandemic has reinforced and strengthened my Faith in God because as a child in the 1960s my Dad taught me about The Mark of The Beast and The Time of Tribulation,so I already knew a time of oppression and persecution was coming. But of course I grew up,the 60s turned into the 1970s,the decades went by,life followed it's course,much of humanity gleefully was going to hell in a handcart and all our media voices told us lies about the immense freedom we had to use drugs,alcohol,sex etc. I wasn't doing all that but all the cultural influences say all that was ok and I was the bad,weird one. I realized in the early 2000s that I didn't believe it anymore. And then it bloody well started happening!
Thanks so much for this . I was always overwhelmed reading the bible and it frustrated me . Now with your help ,I'm overwhelmed with joy and I sometimes tear up because I can truly feel God's love . I have been christian for pretty much my whole life, However I was a bit of lukewarm like I cared but i was just so caught up in the media and worldy things. Recently I have became more interested in growing my relationship with the Lord this helped me so much thank you!
I would love to help many of you. I do not and cannot read my Bible. I am visually impaired. What I do is listen to my Bible and have been for more than 20 years. I normally listen to it in six months. Cover to cover. For the first time in my life I now have 31 people doing with me. How wonderful God is.! God bless you all

My method is highlighters and pens, I have a good one that doesnt bleed through I also keep a notebook. I journal my prayers and my understanding. But I still need to find a church because I really want to get closer with God.
It resonated so much with me when I learned, the gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are the structure, the framework, of God's word. All the other books rest inside the framework of the Gospel.
Thankyou for this video. I have circumstances in my life that have lead me to rekindle my faith I lost many years ago when I was a child at school where we was taught the Bible. Growing up I sway on the side of science and alternative lifestyles. Drugs and other things have lead me astray. My mum has just got lung cancer and my partner is recoving from cancer. I'm gay too. I've had serval attempts of taking my own life too. I'm at rock bottom. I found a copy of the new testament and psalms by accident and started to read it and it has inspired me. I don't know where to start in looking for God again so I typed in bible for beginners in youtube and this video came up. I now know where to start and this is the start to my journey. I don't know why I'm typing this in the comment section. I don't know anything. I'm so confused but I know that I need God's guidance and the support from his followers. O don't j ow what I hope to achieve from typing or speaking but half way typing this I feel a massive weight lifted off me. I'm scared and I don't want my mum to die. I don't want to be an addict. I don't want alot pf things and I want alot of things.
I'm very excited to learn about God's Word I maybe a little bit older but it's a lot that I don't know about the Bible and it's like some of the words are hard for me to pronounce but I do my best to read the word but I enjoy reading onces I get started I can't read one chapter it has to be one, two, or three, before I lay it down. I believe in God, but I'm always with the sins I couldn't stop sinning, I really really need God to come in my life without him I can't go heaven and now I will start reading God's word
Living in sin is different than committing sin. We all commit sin. Living in sin is living with someone in adultery, spending time online in porn, etc. Committing sin is something that happens in the moment. God will forgive but we need to learn from the sin and try to remove it from our life. No one is perfect but only need to ask for forgiveness and strive for improvement.
@JKM Guitar & Drummer, One thing to bear in mind, is that in being imperfect humans, we all are sinners. The only Perfect One, is God. He is incapable of Sin. But if you repent of your sins with a sincere and humble heart, and ask God for forgiveness and ask Him into your heart and into your life, He will forgive you. That however doesn't mean that you will stop sinning, or are incapable of sinning. But Jesus was crucified and His blood was spilled, so that men would not have to pay the terrible price for being sinners, just by virtue of being human. When you pray, you should always ask God to forgive you. Just remember to approach God with a sincere and humble heart when seeking His forgiveness. God's blessings to you and your loved ones!
Yes, of course you can! There was a time in the book of Samuel where a lady named Hannah was praying to God for a son because she had a lot of trouble conceiving - and instead of praying aloud, she prayed in her heart but her lips were still moving. The old testament was meant to be as a law and history for the Jews to obey in their times. Their time that is ancient and cruel because people or nations at the time were about invading more territories with goods and staying alive and having a good life as possible as it can be in their own ways and their beliefs. So it makes sense the OT is hard and cruel because the world was ANCIENT, so the Jews can interact with the world without having BIG of a trouble.
The new testament was meant to be for the whole world instead of only Jews, and mainly because humans were sinning more often and the old ways were not helping so Jesus opened a new easier way so humans can comeback to him and he's the one who paid the price. looking at it, a GOD deserves A LOT but Jesus made it so easy on us now that we don't have to do most of the rituals in the Bible and just be honest with him. Isn't that the most lovely thing a person, no, a GOD can do? The NT isn't doing the OT wrong but "completing" on it. It's just somethings were for certain periods and people, so people can live physically and mentally with the world. Like now I can't just kill a person cought with a horrible sin just because the Bible told me so. God might make changes but he doesn't change. As in the video says: read the NT first so when you read the OT things would make sense, and don't just read the Bible once but a few times, because Everytime you read it it will lead you to a different meaning and true understanding.
I am 17 and have been unable to read the Bible presently, but I feel that after watching this video by a servant of God I shall be changed to a new creation.
One thing I must say about you is that you are the most relatable person in my opinion when it comes to speaking the truth about God. I may not agree with everything that you say but what you have spoken of is more true through in my opinion than any other religious leader or anything that has been said by anyone else as far as Christianity goes so I applaud you for this.
My colours are: - Red for orders and commands ( New Testament is plenty of imperatives). - orange is for why I should do something ( many times, again especially in the New Testament there’re imperatives followed by motivations) -Yellow for things that God himself realises for us, promises converted in actions when we are ready ( there are not many many like imperatives but when I found one usually I give it more importance because for God nothing is impossible and when he does these things are permanent in our life) - Blu Sky for all the truth that sounds like doctrines like James 2:24 or James 1:17 so basically things that cannot change and are always true even in our disobedience -purple for consequences so what happen if you don’t do something good or you commit a sin. Often we are warned by scripture about sin and his consequences. Personally it’s important to focus on these things so I can fight against the temptation. Thank Daniel for the video. Honestly, I have mixed emotions about all the different versions so I try to stick with the classic King James Version😊 but I stopped reading the living Bible, since I didn’t know if I was reading the correct information or not.

I'm Indigenous Canadian Ojibwe. I didn't know who to trust or which religion to choose I'm happy I chose Christian faith I believe in the father son and holy spirit in my culture. The Creator. I've been watching your videos and you shed light that's needed for me for my mind and spirituality and beliefs you brought light to me with your shining Armour I have red a few pages of Matthew mark and Luke and I will continue to read and try to understand and build my relationship with the father son and holy spirit I ask for forgiveness every day and accept Jesus as my personal lord and savior. I hope and wish to have a relationship with God and I thank you for guiding me and helping me with understanding. I have read 3 or 4 books In my life and have about a grade 4 or 5 reading level. The Amplified version is exciting, The New International Version helps me apply such old times to my modern day, I think every version of the Bible has something to offer. I love being in a Bible study that has several different versions. They all are saying the same thing in different words

Daniel, I appreciated these points. I am not new to the Bible. But I recall those days that I was and I would have liked to have these points. I ended up doing alot you suggested so I truly believe the Holy Spirit was guiding me. I am not sure about a Commentary. Because that is just someone opinion. I found in my early walk to use a Study Bible. But there again there could be untruth in those. I did find a Study Bible that was put out by a trusted teacher/Pastor that I am using BUT even though I trust the help notes below. I pray and ask the Holy Spirit to set up a red flag if something is not true. Then I can slow down and research and pray about. So far I haven't found anything amist with this study bible. BUT I want to say how it is important to read and Bible and let God speak to you. I found untruth being taught in other areas that I could have fell for had I not been in the word. So thank you for this video. I love the color pencils. I will adopt this in my study. ❤ as I have only underlined.

Hey bud,iv got back into my faith after to many long years away...and i just could not get into reading the bible..which was frustrating..im a catholic but reading my grandads bible of whom i did not meet as he died at sea.(god rest his soul and give him peace) tho his bible is church of england.the bible as i say i could not get into and asked father cole at church on sunday to make apointment for him to help me understand the bible of which he said yes..yes i felt anxiouse about reading it as i got so confused with it and did think why is so hard as i was going back on google for it to explain what i was reading...someyhing keeps nudging me to read and read it good with meaning ..and out of the blue you poo up ...this has put me to ease and yes made me less anxiouse when i meet up with father to help, but thanks for this video it has helped..your a good lad and easy soul to listen to.🙏

The Holy Spirit will guide you if we’re sincere in repentance we won’t need anyone to tell you when and how to read because the Holy Spirit knows what we all need First and foremost. I was led to read what we call the Old Testament then the new we can’t understand the words of God Without knowing the first part of the Bible. That’s why so many people believe the law is done away with because all they read is the New Testament. How can we truly come to the knowledge of Who God is if we don’t read the entire book and put all of it into practice daily.
