I started my Twitch journey back November to a solid 2 viewers, and after 10 months of hard work and heavy guidance from your videos I'm nearly at 75 monthly average :) Thanks for everything you do for the community, my dude!
I've heard its better to ask only if they enter chat not just being a viewer. If they enter chat, then they're not lurking and wanna engage. Whereas calling out a lurking can scare them away. At least that's the consensus I've taken away from a lot of twitch how to videos
"Focus on improvement over growth." Needed to hear this, thanks. My channel is slow going, but every time I post it feels like the best one I've made so far, and that's a great feeling!
This is super important advice actually. I started watching people I am not a fan of, and it helped me understand some things to do to grow. Also finding my place was huge, and with watching my older videos and streams. Settling into a role I enjoy and focusing on wargaming (while doing other things with my group as well) has gotten us a steady and growing audience.
I destroyed myself with the "get too comfortable" .... i stream 3 years, i got growth with Warcraft 3 game, and cus of this feeling like things are good, i forgot what made me grow and now i cant really go back. Im basically start from scratch, with handfull of people left. I could have done so many things that i didnt. But thats life. I will try again.
Not from scratch. You got experience that others don’t have. It may be a newer start or restart but you know what you can do. I’m barely nearing my 1.5 years streaming and only now starting to get what makes me different to everyone else. Take your earned experience and use it as a boost. You got this!
@@dougf1249 ooooh im curious to know what makes you different! I think for me.. I use anything thrown my way to crack jokes and improv witty banter on the fly with my community. So when being shown RU-vid videos, trailers, video games, conversation etc I'm quick to turn them into things that make chat laugh.
@@adamklase8547 i do that aswell with rly limited people right now, before when i tried things like you wrote down ,ppl just ignored and were leaving , because Warcraft 3 is totaly different streaming community... all the players are old school, tryhard and pretty much toxic. All they care about is gameplay over and over and over again and you must be really good , cus you compete with ppl that didnt stop playing the game for 16 years in a row. Im currently trying again but my motivation is rly low. I got from full paying streaming carreer into the abyss. videos that im posting on youtube - just check them if you can and tell me what am i doing wrong, i mean for real i cant figure out a way outta this. Does Harris take like some request for donos to check ppls channels and stuff?
Adam Klase in honesty; pretty close to that. It’s my personality. We (my community) have a phrase coined called hashtag quality content. For bad or good something fun or funny or silly or surprising always happens every stream. Usually not in my favor. Add that in with a sarcastic goof and people find me entertaining. Ya not much a separation from everyone else but that’s what i’ve found. I’m an okay potato in fps games and decent in other games so people don’t come to see the best gameplay.
I appreciate streams more and more everyday. I recently started and I'm realizing the amount of work and the learning curve it takes to do it. Just for my basic scene set-up, I spent 15 hours researching the best way to do things. I'm constantly editing and making minor changes just to be a tiny bit better. It's crazy and it takes real effort.
As someone who had been watching way too many of these types of videos, yours stands out because it really focuses on the MINDSET that you have to have and I 100% vibe with it. That entrepreneurial mentality that is healthily competitive with others and yourself, is always accountable for your own improvement and success, learns from those who are at the level you want to be, and is never complacent. I feel like that’s not just a collection of skills used to be successful on twitch, but successful with anything you choose to pursue!
ive been binge watching ur streaming videos since 2 weeks. im a new streamer and i wanted to let you know that listening to your advices has made a huge impact on how i see myself as a streamer and mostly, not feeling completely lost and overwhelmed since i know nothing at all about being a streamer. i've grown so much and i love the community we've developped. so, thank you for being there with a helping hand
@@MeYeRtoGo Yo please tell me where the intro from your channel trailer came from. I've seen something just like that before and it's driving me insane that I can't remember where XD
I've been streaming for 3 years consistently now. I've gone from 0-3 (6 months), 10-20 (1-2 years), and am now at 25-50 (2 years+). I've slowly been growing but I definitely know I would do well with an audience. Thank you for the input 🙏
@@25Deception appreciate that man, a slow incline up is better than nothing. Sometimes feels like going nowhere but stats never lie and every day you learn and get better so that helps too
@@dougf1249 *consistently* I've been streaming on a strict schedule consistently for 3 years. I haven't stopped or slowed down. I was streaming about 12-15 hours a week but I recently quit my job to stream full time and now stream 5 days a week almost 50 hours a week. It's a tough biz to make it in, still fighting my way through.
I'm a budding streamer on twitch and it's great to have these videos as a foundation to know that my workflow is going down the right track. You're a treasure.
I really like the way you manage to be honest without sounding horrendous. And although I have preconceived notions about the name "Alpha Gaming" you finally got me to subscribe. I watch about 1 video of yours every 1-2 days, just to ingest your tips slower. It's a marathon not a race. Sry for not subbing earlier, you already convinced me to make youtube content to help my twitch bud about a week ago (not this channel haha)
Harris isn’t the Hero we deserve but the Hero we needed! I started content creation 6 months ago and you have helped more than you know. I have been focussing a lot of TikTok and got 42k followers in that time and recommend it to help you grow your content creation career!
I brought this up in his discord channel a couple weeks ago and someone said that he was working on it. idk if that person is a credible source or not but hopefully that's true.
Im thinking of picking up streaming and ive watched over 2 hours of your videos today. I went from knowing anything to feeling comfortable enough to start streaming soon, I cant thank you enough for your dedication and effort in the videos you make
Thank you so much for making this video! I am inconsistent with uploading videos and don’t have a set schedule. I think that is one of my worst problems amongst A LOT OF OTHER MISTAKES.❤️
Imma be honest with you, might be dangerous here at RU-vid land... But I am a content Creator and I love it however, I'm homeless atm and needed to step away from it. Now I'm working 13 hour graveyard shifts at a homeless shelter, and considering another full time job. I'm doing that for two reasons, to get a place for me and my family #1 of course. However I'm also working so hard, so I can get back to doing what I love, streaming and making videos... The advice you give, really helps with perspective and motivation. You're like a coach, always reminding me. "I can do it... but it won't be easy. Work hard, and improve." Genuinely... Thank you.
good stuff. Thanks for the advice. I’m getting ready to stream on Twitch. Also the game I play: Street Fighter, you basically have to assume you’re doing something wrong in order to get better. So similar concept there
Thanks man this really helped! all other videos keep repeating the same thing now i notice i have to work hard, put in the effort, don't get to comfortable, and be intresting and push the limits!
I've been on both RU-vid and Twitch for almost a year now, but barely started considering it a possible career path. Some issues with my current employment, have made me really look inward as to what do I want to do with the rest of my life. So for the past few months I've started taking it all seriously. I have a long way to go, but these videos have been super helpful, as both a guide and source of inspiration. I just wanted to say thank you for all the effort you've put into them. Congrats on all the big moves lately as well.
You have no idea how much your videos have helped me grow, even the little I have. New to streaming, working on some stuff, but man, you have great info
That shirt is wrinkled Harris that's how I know you are a real dude. You've really helped my develop a stronger mindset on how to improve myself and my content on Twitch. Now I just need to apply that to my RU-vid.
I’m going to comment on one of your videos in a year thanking you for this video, because I am going to try all five tips, and I know in a year of doing this I will have a bigger community on my twitch.
Hey Harris I really enjoy all your help during this HARD journey but It's just hard to find something to make me stand out since the games I like streaming are super common on twitch. Basically just Call of Duty and Minecraft, I'm currently getting around 2 viewers per stream which are just my friends which just leave their browsers with my stream on so they don't really count. I will continue on this HARD quest and keep watching your videos for advice. Thank you for all the help and keep doing what you're doing!
Been slowly building my stream - making sure audio/video is quality, gettings my overlays looking fresh, getting spicy emotes (very important :P), etc. Your videos have helped me a lot. I really appreciate the time you put into this content.
I been streaming half a year and still always looking to make my channel better. Lets just say I spent hours watching all ur videos for tips. You have helped me so much from camera, lighting, and video editing. Life saver and time saver
Ok I think your one of the best at giving advice about this. Everyone thinks RU-vid is easy and all they need is a few videos. My channel living scared I’ve been working on for two years. It hasn’t grown where I want it to. Because I haven’t Gave it my all
I love this, thank you. This has a lot of value, its not just "do these 5 things" its, hey let me have a discussion about the real, raw aspects of content creation. About how if you want to be successful you have to have the quality upgrades, and a mindset that this is a career. Honestly the best video I have seen in a while.
Probably one of the most important messages out there for any type of personal growth. If you improve just 1 thing each time, you will eventually hit the bar and go above it.
I’m just going to be starting out streaming and I gotta say, the advice you give in all your videos is so honest and direct - so refreshing to hear. Thank you.
Yeah I noticed that when you don’t hyper focus on the growth, and just game, stream, have fun, the numbers will grow. Sure I’m still small but where I was a year ago, up to now. It’s kinda crazy. Anything that I try to do to improve my stream, I do to try make things entertaining that keep my viewers engaged even if it’s one viewer.
I’ve been trying to grow my stream for over a year and a half and just recently hit 300 followers. And I’ve started uploading RU-vid videos but since watching this, I think I have some new ideas. Thank you so much for making this 💕✨
Coming back to this comment is crazy…. I almost have 1k followers on twitch now and my average viewers went from 2 to 10. I’ve even had some streams with more than 20 viewers! It’s insane…. And even on my RU-vid I have almost 400 subs. The journey goes slowly but if you keep working you can make it! ✨🎉
I'm gonna prove to you wrong. I aspire top be a Twitch Affiliate at a minimum with a side youtube channel for other content. You've given me so many tips and helped out, one day, when I get the money and time, I'll put everything you've said into practice.
This video really helped me understand its good that I am my own worst critic. Because I want too be a great streamer and build and create awesome content and I am also a musician so I know the ups and downs from that. I will keep pushing. Thanks for all the great content and if you ever need a well rounded drummer too collab with I gotchu!
Bet. Harris I am watching this from 2021. You have helped me so much. I know I might fail and I might give up at times but I will do this. Someday I might come for your title. I am a small RU-vidr but I will work hard and come for the throne.
I hate to pause the video and comment but this is the absolute truth! Honesty is key to understanding what you don't know or what you don't have yet. Good job AlphaGaming on this strong advice for people like me who want to be streaming or on RU-vid.
Thanks for these videos! I've learned so much from watching your tips... I'm now trying to set up my audio filters for my Mic and make it sound better and better :) it's a long journey and I absolutely love it... I have a few daily viewers and I love to interact with them... I love to stream and have fun together and for me... growth isn't even in my top 3 of things I want to accomplish xD I want to have fun... learn a lot of new skills.. interact with viewers/gamers and that's basically all I am aiming form... there are still new members showing up which is awesome and I am trying out new things to make my streams more and more pleasant to watch... but again the journey is all I want out of it... it's fantastic to do ! And people like you who share the knowledge make it all the more worthwhile!!! Thanks!
It's a shame we missed to start earlier on Twitch. Videostreaming since 2006 DJ radio shows (!), but Twitch started late in 2020. We could have reached the 1000 viewers by now. It is definetly true that it is too late for some content to grow organically. Only creative, very new content will grow. But traditional content as ours, has too much competition out there to stand out. One chance is still there: find sponsors who like what you do and give you a push :-) Harris, tune in on saturday from 8 pm CET on, maybe you'll like it ;-)
I think I needed to here this, mentally i've just not been thinking on why I wanted to stream in the first place. But instead have been thinking about the numbers, trying to get to Affiliate as soon as possible. But that motivation alone will not be long lasting as it's more a small goal that has no drive once it's complete or ever will be. Instead I need to focus on how to make my stream the most quality time for everyone. I want the viewer to have the best time of there life, than just wasting it away by watching game clips. Definitely need to restructure on some things.
Thanks Harris for some tips, you are very enjoyable to watch. I'm just beginning to create my brand and show my face so some useful info from you. I believe you, just have to stay consistent and think about the viewer interaction. You want to build a community. It is very hard to break that ice at beginning though so I'm not surprised many people quit
A lot of this applies not only to building a RU-vid/twitch business, but any business. The only thing stopping you from being a successful business owner is you. We tend to blame everyone else. God knows, Im not so proud that I can't admit that. But when I am actively trying to make my business better, I do better than when I am blaming others for it's shortcomings. I do rely on others. But at the end of the day, if I am successful, everyone around me is lifted up and my reliance on others changes to people wanting to work with me. And that makes me more money.
As for stream beats, u are absolutely amazing for giving it to us for free. Love ur passion for helping smaller streamers and other streamers in general. Love it man. Thanks so much.
I actually have a variating viewer count, from 14 to 5 average. Because I am not streaming the same content always. But I recently stumbled upon your channel and I am ready to learn even more from your video's. I recently started my RU-vid channel for my Twitch channel. It took me 3 months to reach affiliate. But the more I got a regular schedule the better the average viewercount got. 😊
I must say that I started a new twitch stream :) and your advice has really helped me out and I just appreciate you and your content :) thanks Mr Harris for all you do on here, and I love the music :P
HUGE Thank you for Stream Beats I feel so safe playing music “Learn something from people you don’t like “ that’s a first I’ll buy a gamer candle maybe a chill stream smell
