Hahaha. The plastic hollow rod had broken from 20 years of age. The ends were still perfectly attached.The girls had hung things off of it. Alas, it finally snapped. So, I decided to install a solid lucite square rod instead for extra strength.... Well, when I tried to put one end in, then tried to flex/bend the lucite rod to fit into the other end, it gave and popped off! 😮... So now I have to try your re-attachment method for one of the ends. Thanks for your video demonstration.
That’s exactly what happened to my porcelain towel holder, although it was attached on the ceramic tile in the shower. I started to slip in the tub, so I grabbed onto the towel bar and it pulled off the ceramic holder from the shower wall. Will this adhesive work on ceramic tile? I’m going to try this and hope it works.
@@rollthers3157 Pry it off the wall and then clean the back of the towel holder..You will also need to repair the drwall because it will leave a nice hole.
a nice chunk of the drywall came out with it, larger than the original hole, should I do a repair on the drywall then cut out a hole for the rack and will that work
Hi. If your ceramic piece is broken then you could use a good ceramic epoxy that has a resin and harder mix to glue the ceramic back together but then still use the construction adhesive to attach the ceramic piece to the drywall. Or if the actual ceramic piece is broken you could also just buy a new one and then attach it to the drywall with the construction adhesive like I did in the video.
So you attach plastic rod with at one time otherwise you can't get it to fit once you put the rest the hold it down without the rap already in it you can't get it back in it just won't go interesting always shave the Raptor fitted this is kind of hard to do
@@howtoscottkeeley I couldn't find them on the HD or lowe's website. I will run by the stores to check, I found some online at the Tile store but they do not have the 2'X4" setback to compensate for the thickness of the surrounding tile.
They sell an adjustable towel bar adapter to put inside the rod to make it expand. So basically you can cut a new rod a little shorter and put the adapter in it so that you do not have to remove either ceramic side. I hope that's what you are referring to.
