Restoration / Rebuild of my 1997 Honda CR 125 R.
Fully rebuilt 1997 Honda CR 125 R : Fully rebuilt bottom end (bearings+seals) fresh nicasil plated + ported cylinder and WÖSSNER Piston, fully polished engine and covers, FMF Fatty Pipe and Shorty Silencer, BOYESEN Power Reeds (dual-stage reeds), fresh painted frame, new ALL BALLS and PIVOT WORKS steering linkage swingarm shock and wheel bearings, RENTHAL Ultralight Sprocket, AFAM front sprocket, REGINA racing chain, AFAM handlebar, RENTHAL grips, new levers and clutch perch, new UFO Plastics, DRC and ZETA billet parts all around, polished almost every alloy aluminium part, polished exhaust, fresh rebuilt brakes, new brake pads, gun-barrel oxidized screws bolts and nuts, and the list goes on...

A lot of people watching this video will do so with a so what attitude but I didn't, I loved this model and really appreciated you taking your time to restore and document this rebuild. Thank you I really enjoyed this video and please wear a crash helmet and body armour when you decide to rip around on it please :)

funny because I see an 18" rear rim of a 92-95 lol. Nice bike. When doing these builds I normal update to a newer front fender and number plate to help not age it as bad.

+old skool83 (oldskool83) I know ;) The previous owner was pretty short, so he changed it to 18 inch. I want to buy a new set of wheels someday. Yeah, most people do that front fender-number plate mod, but i want it OEM restorated

hi, how do you disconnect the power valve so you remove the jug. cheers

+NHEFF09 You have to remove the right powervalve cover, then remove the little securing pin and pull the pushrod off towards yourself ;) Be careful with the little washers!

cheers mr, iv done it today.unfortunately there's a little scoring on my cylinder at the bottom on the exhaust side.so not happy. lol thanks for tip tho.

Wanna get my hands on an older cr125 engine with the 6speed for my 01 , also I feel like my 01 is lazy . Added vforce 3 reeds and pro circuit pipe an fmf silencer helped but 4th to 5th is really lazy .

I paid 25 euro for it, if i remember right... The resto cost about 1000-1500 euro i think, I didnt add it up...

yamaharaptor69 It´s definitely worth it ;) when it´s all done and shiny it looks pretty much like new. I polished almost every alloy part on this bike and engine to let it shine :)

For a really clean, or rebuilt cr125 i wouldn´t pay more than 1500-1800€ depends on the quality of the bike

Gearbox oil belongs into the gearbox only, not into the crankcase ;) 2-Stroke oil belongs into the gastank ;)

ok I'm trying to take of my swingarm and engine of my bike but the goddamn swingarm axle won't come out and I'm getting really angry. what did you use or how did you take it out? please help me

If it really wont come out, you have to put the frame with the swingarm into a hydraulic press and press it out

No you can replate a nicasil plated cylinder as often as you want ;) the company will also weld cracks etc.

+Kendall Davis Not powder coated, painted! With a air compressor and a spray gun. Sandblasted the frame, then primer, white paint and clear coat ;)

I did a full bottom end rebuild, but ok ;) you got to know it better then the one who rebuilt it i guess ;)

It is for lubrication ;) Lubricates the bridge in the exhaust port

I don't think that's a 97, because I'm pretty sure that's the year they switched to the aluminum frame.

1997 125 = steel frame / 1997 250 = aluminium frame

Besser als NEU ? Wieso wurde der Kühler nicht gerichtet - Kühlrippen . Wo sind die EXEL FELGEN und Radnarbe .-) . Magurra Hydraulic kupplungsansteuerung . Magurra Lenker . Motor innen poliert und optimiert (es ist doch ein 2-Takter , diese Motoren muß man INNEN POLIEREN und optimieren - Strömungswege und Kurbelgehäuse etc) . Bessere Griffe und Hebelbetätigungen . Stahlflex etc etc . Du hast lediglich die Maschine wieder Neu/gebraucht aufgebaut . Du hast den Rahmen lackiert , das ist zumal gUT , bestimmt war der Rahmen über den Fußrasten abgenutzt und die Rahmenführung unter dem Motor (fehlender motorschutz) zerbeult und zerkratzt . Ich kann nur HOFFEN , das Du wirklich CARBON und HARZ verwendet hast und nicht Klebeband im carbonlook . Es ist schlau die Abnutzungsstellen mit carbon zu verkleiden , das werde Ich demnächst nachholen - Ich habe 2x Cr500 und CRf450 . Im CRF Rahmen kann man Sich spieglen - Ich hatte seinerzeit die CRF zerlegt und Neu aufgebaut , den Rahmen 3Tage lang a 8std oder mehr , polliert - wie ein Spiegel , aber der Glanz verfliegt mit der Zeit bei ALU ! Ich finde schön , das Du das Modell mit dem LETZTEN WAHREN MOTOCROSS-RAHMEN hast ! Nicht diese Alu-Dinger , sondern die Serie davor ! :Ich fine es Super: Ps : Die Kolben optimierungen fand Ich sehr gut . Ich kenne noch folgende Tricks für 2-Takt Kolben : KOLBENHEMD kürzen (Einlaßseite) . Ein Fünf-MARK -Stück auf dem Kolben schweißen , damit die Kammer höher verdichtet . 2 Fußdichtungen verwenden . Strömungswege optimieren und polieren . Kurbelgehäuse ist auch ein ORT , wo SICH DAS GAS vor dem VERBRENNEN sammelt - also Kurbelgehäuse polieren . Der Motor läuft zwar auch mit verwirbelter Luft Gas Gemisch , aber der Motor zieht es vor, einen kompremiert gepackten Luft-Gas-Gemisch zu atmen und zu verbrennen . Deswegen Kanten runden , dafür Sorgen das ein BÜNDEL LUFT-Gas-GEMISCH in die Kammer kommt, am BESTEN ohne TURBOLENZEN . Meine CR500 sind optimiert (Bj 98 , wahrscheinlich mag Ich Dein Video deswegen, es erinnert Mich am Meine Aufbauten) , wie Alle Motorräder zuvor auch und Ich kann sagen , die Dinger hängen am GAS , wie Nichts anderes! Das ist immer das erste , was FREMDEN auffällt , die die Modeps mal Probefahren durften . Innen polieren ist das A und das O bei 2-Taktmotoren . Am Ende seh Ich , Unsere Bike unterscheiden sich eigentlich nur durch den Motor - optisch gesehen . Eine von Meinen Beiden Cr500 hat die gleichen Plastikfarben , den Sitzbankbezug etc Ich mag das Video , obwohl Du nur dafür sorgtest , das die Teile wie Neu aussehen . Aber Innen (bis auf die Kolben optimierung) haste nicht viel erledigt . Egal , Ich hoffe der Krümmer wurde Richtig Instand gesetzt und nicht eine BLENDE über die Dellen geschweißt . Man kann Metall ja verformen ;-) oder Teile Rausschneiden und nahtlos wieder einschweißen , sodaß man die Reparatur nicht sehen kann (Verputzen der Schweißnaht und Polieren).Ich hoffe , es wurde Richtig gemacht , obwohls ja nicht mein Bike ist :-) , so fühle Ich doch mit jeder CR und freue Mich über JEDE NeuAufbauung !

Blew the dent out with heat and air pressure, then polished it, sandblasted the too rusty front section and painted it black with exhaust paint
