How to Rebuild a Carburetor on an Echo Trimmer or Edger

Hi all! In today's video, I will be rebuilding a carburetor off of an Echo SRM-210 Grass Trimmer. This video will also apply to many other Echo Grass Trimmers such as the SRM-225 or GT-225. In addition, this video applies to some Echo edgers including the PE-225. Happy Fixing!

That was a detailed informative video. all went well, but the one part you said it should be good not to use from the new parts bag. ,But it b had come off on my carb before i found you video and I was not sure where it went.? I found its place. but rest of your video was spot on. Thanks it ran like it did when new.

@@ElGreengo The part I said not to use was the metering lever. You can use the new one, but make sure to adjust it. I'm sure you can find other videos on how to adjust a metering lever. Thanks for the support.

Yes. The rebuild kit for the srm-225's is a zama rb-188.

If it's been a week since I last used my echo srm210 and the primer bulb i already full, is it necessary to prime it? Or should I just apply the choke and start without priming?

Even though the primer bulb may be full of fuel, the internal fuel passages of the carburetor and fuel line leading to it, may not be. Over time, air makes its way into the carburetor and intake fuel line, cutting off the engine's fuel supply. The purpose of the primer bulb is to suck fuel out of the gas tank, up the fuel line, in the carburetor, and back into the gas tank, to get rid of any air that may be in the fuel system. This is why if you often do not pump the primer bulb when the engine is cold, it won't want to start. To answer your question, if the trimmer has been sitting at least an hour, slowly pump the primer about 6-8 times or so. If the trimmer has been off for less than an hour, you shouldn't need to pump the primer at all.
