I distilled the video into a written summary, as follows. Please advise and comments or corrections Recharge AC steps 1. Put on safety glasses 2. Locate and unscrew L connector cap 3. Start the car, and set AC to max cold, max blower 4. Wait for engine to warm up 5. Open car doors so AC keeps running 6. Measure ac temp (if desired) 7. Shake Freon can really well 8. Screw charger hose onto Freon can 9. Attach charger hose to L connector 10. Freon starts flowing-shake & rotate can continuously, while monitoring gauge 11. Could take 5-15 minutes 12. When needle gets to mid-blue (~35 PSI), disconnect L side 13. Unscrew can side, discard can in trash or recycle 14. Reinstall L connector cap-make sure it’s tight 15. Done!

I noticed you didn't have it on recirculate in the cab when you were running the AC. Does it matter if it's on recirculate or not?
@HowToVideoChannel
@HowToVideoChannel 2 года назад
It would be better to pull the hotter side in from outside. However, since you leave the doors open recirculate would be fine.

@@HowToVideoChannel I need the connector. If I remove it the gas will leak out
@HowToVideoChannel
@HowToVideoChannel 2 года назад
Removing the connector shouldn’t cause a problem. It’s similar to a propane tank connection like on a gas grill. The tank shouldn’t leak. But you could always put it in a ziplock as soon as you detach the hose.
@gregmunson7320
@gregmunson7320 2 года назад
can you add the hose to the Low connector and then connect to the canister?
@HowToVideoChannel
@HowToVideoChannel 2 года назад
Yes, you should be able to.
@-JonnyBoy-
@-JonnyBoy- 2 года назад
Spend $30 on a high and low pressure gauge set and you won't regret it. You can diagnose most ac issues with that and fill it properly/safely. If you have to keep filling it check the high and low ports for leaks, they always end up with a slow leak.

It should work as long as you can locate the intake to add the refrigerant.

You should be able to store it as long as you remove the hose. Also, if there was a cap, you should replace it.

Didn't take any of the freon in my santa fe. What could be the issue?
@HowToVideoChannel
@HowToVideoChannel 2 года назад
As long as you put it into the correct place and had the A/C running to help pull it in then it could be a couple of things. One is that it’s already full. Or that you may be using the wrong type of canister. There could also be a leak somewhere that is compromising the intake.

@HowToVideoChannel

If there was an improvement after adding a can of refrigerant. Then I’d say you need more refrigerant. If no improvement, then you have a large leak and need to have that repaired.
