I regenerate when i have time for myself. I write down all my inspirations and ideas and i love to sort them in systematic todo-lists what gives me e clear structure and plan what to do next to improve my life and to achieve my goals. I have autism, but i think writing down all good ideas can helf the most people, to have a plan and goals☺️💖

one energy depleater i experience as an autistic person is masking! it's exhausting trying to people-please and script myself in a society that discourages me from showing up as who i am. i saw research suggesting that it's common for autistic folks assigned female at birth to develop BPD and BPD traits. that describes me, so i'd believe it. but, as someone who loves to draw, i completely agree with the importance of having a creative outlet! keep grooving 🎸

This can apply to most people who don't say no, over busy or stick to a planned limited schedule. Great video as usual.

❤thanks again, Dr. Fox. I recharge by doing crochet. This keeps my hands busy and chills out my brain. I think it is important to do something for yourself that is positive and will not feed maladaptive behaviors down the road ( drugs, alcohol ). Make time for yourself!

Dr Fox You truly nailed this, intro, middle and summary. You have been my psychologist (thank you) for 3ish or so years now. At times, you get me slapping my couch, leg or even better, a loud perfectly connected clap while I literally yell out loud 'You are a psychic!'. You have a special way of exposing your humanity/humility, exhaustion and absolute perseverance and commitment as you troop through every possible angle or way to say that he same thing in every posdible way. You have made me sad, happy, excited, bored, ordinary, extraordinary, special and most of all and this is consistent, you have made me more resilient and determined to keep mastering being content with waiting things out. Patience for the people. Your presence and sincere will to break through is the thing above all that has changed me. You have managed to sooth sooooo many people with Love and passion. What a beautiful soul 🙌

I appreciate you bringing clarity to how my brain works. I never realized how certain behaviors affect my energy. Thank you for not only bringing insight but also providing helpful solutions. I can definitely tell a difference in how I feel when I do things like going outside.

It took ages to realize I'm stuck in overanalyzing my history, blaming, ruminating and actually DO the good things and be in the present, to breathe and catch the moment. I can't really say when / how this shift happened (for me, I think finding Faith did the nudge I couldn't do myself) , I wish there was a magic trick everyone could feel safe enough to be present, stop / not overdo the emotional drain and start doing the emotional recharge, to live again, be playful, and build something new. Every person is unique and wonderful and I wish everyone has the chance to get support from someone like you! Your videos (and workbooks) are great, especially when not able to get other help. Thanks so much! ❤

Thank you, Dr Fox. This was really insightful. My emotional battery has been drained for years, and seeing there are ways to recharge is hopeful. I'd love a video about how to restore social battery. I've always had a low social battery, but due to the pandemic (and dealing with long covid), my bpd flaring back up, and an almost complete loss of my support network over the last year (very traumatic), I feel like my social battery is permanently dead, and I have no idea how to restore it. I know how important a support network is for those of us with bpd, but building a new one seems impossible when I'm too exhausted and scared of talking to others, much less meeting others and building new relationships.

Thanks for bringing this subject up and thanks for being here. Your timely and wonderful thoughts and advice have helped me greatly. I did have an experience I would like to share. We do need to remember that while having an artistic outlet can be good. However there are those of us who when we make a mistake. The building or filling of the battery flips into a drainer. Example, for Christmas I was given one of those wooden snap together puzzles. I started putting it together. Well one of the pieces would not fit. No matter how many ways I have tried it just would not go together. This really has bummed me out. So later that day my partner said something to me and I was set up. Now after watching this and in looking back at what happened I have realized just what happened and why. If you are a perfectionist an artistic outlet may not be a good thing, as it is with me.

Watch the video for the fullest, most informative content & here are the bullet points... Battery drainers... - people pleasing -spending too much time on the phone scrolling -fear, doubt, stress -not exercising -food of poor nutritional quality -sitting too long -spending too much time thinking about the past -setting unrealistic goals w/an appropriate timeline and metrics to help you get there Battery energizers... -get outside, move around, and get some sunlight -exercise -eating well -listening to music (not while on your phone) -really connecting with someone else (who is healthy not critical or draining) -get a healthy amount of sleep -have a creative outlet (write, draw, paint, photography, music, garden) Be sure to listen to the entire video for important clarifications.

The imagined scenarios are exhausting but in my case, the worst one usually comes true. However even then the outcome is beyond my control so it's still a waste of energy.

Just went through an emotional episode. I have challenged my comfort zone and had a need to set time to absorb the experience. This time not feeling guilty for taking the time to set the adjustments. I went through this process many years ago and now have a need to appreciate the growth and move on to live a more fulfilling life. I feel a need to celebrate this emotional moment and hope for the best. Something does feel off but will deal with that when I am ready, but I know I have crossed a threshold of an emotional break through.

Starting small and setting some minimum time helped me make these rechargeable activities part of my lifestyle without them feeling like chores. For example, I run for exercise. My affective minimum is an easy mile. Or maybe just a 10 minute walk in the rain. I play music and drums have been a great outlet for me. I just try and sit down 3 times a week and play them to a click. Those activites are then part of my lifestyle and don't feel demanding. 🙂
