gopro looping is amazing, it cut my edit time by a large amount by only have 5 min saves of what i know are going to have action in them. And so far gopro is the only brand i have found where the looping works like that. Other action cams have looping, but it just saves everything in set min loops and the loop part means if you fill your card it loops back over them. I literally had to look through 10 hours of 5 min loops on other cams.

How are you dealing with the heat? I've been hooking mine to the boat power with 12v outlets/car charge plugs. My Hero 10's overheat when freshwater fishing (on really hot days, Saltwater too) due to lack of breeze to keep them cool while recording in 4k/30 I know you can set it up at 1080p but 4k just looks so much better. I'm experimenting with a few solutions for that while trying to maintain water resistance.

I was having that exact same issue with the overheating since mine were still under warranty I got two new cameras hero 11 black and have not had that issue any longer they told me my old cameras were defective so you may just need new cameras they should not do that you know how it is with go pro though sometimes you get a great one sometimes not so much lol

I fixed my over heat on my gp9 by using a blue colored aluminum frame. It acts as a heatsink.

How many volts is the stock battery? Could you just hard wire it to your boat? I thought I saw guys mounting the GoPro to the top of their rear Navigation light (removing the bulb and using those wires). Ty.

I do this exact thing, I have to keep a battery in the GoPro to make it work. If I want this to work without the GoPro battery, I need to upgrade my cord?

Correct I would look at getting a cord that can handle at least 2 amps or higher you should not have an issue then
