This is how to wirelessly record the audio from your entire chat on a Sena or cardo motorcycle helmet communicator using spare Sena and a field recorder.

You weren't kidding when you said it would change my life. On the Sena that goes in the saddle, can I mute myself (the Sena in my helmet) so I can only get the audio from the other riders? I want to record my voice on the GoPro mic separately and combine both audio in post.

Here is a solution that does use helmet mics but provides very good audio. The My GoPro is out front of the windshield with a wireless receiver and the mic adapter. My helmet has a Cardo, two short cables, wireless transmitter and a second mic. It sounds great ! I found a much better solution to all the cables that are needed in the approach used here in this video. You can replace two cables with one. The splitter and attenuator with one cable. It is called "LIne to Mic, attenuator with headphone monitor". I tried to find this cable on the EU Amazon but couldn't. It is available here in the US. I bought this cable and installed my Cardo and now only have two cables (the Sterio separator and the new cable). It works great with less the mess. AND - for more fun I added a wireless mic transmitter and attached to my helmet (very small unit right next to my Cardo) and the receiver is with the mic adapter and my Hero 10 out in front of my windshield for great clutter free (no handlebar or windshield) video. This is one slick setup. Enjoy Wigsly. Dude this is so simple and genius at the same time. I already do the dr05 for my audio but never thought of plugging a spare into the tascam. Brilliant sir!!!!

Next I’m gonna try the lav mics into the Tascam but the problem is I live in Michigan and it’s February so I can’t test it with wind.

@@WIGSLY if you want awesome audio with Tascam I recommend using the Sony ECM stereo mic. Look for one of my latest motovlogs for a sample. We get crazy wind here in Kansas as well as we nothing but corn and wheat to block it hahaha.

I have two of those. They’re too damn big. No way I could get one on the Sena speaker without ear pain.

@@WIGSLY oh I meant for my audio, yea the ear placement would hurt for sure lol. I currently run Sony to Tascam for me and purple panda to media mod or mic adapter for the other people riding. Takes a lot of work to sync etc. I’m gonna try out your method if the snow ever melts.

Is this how some bigger motovloggers capture their group audio on rides? I’ve wondered about that. I’ve yet to get a sena or cardo but it’s definitely on the soon to purchase list for an added element for group riding

Most people I think use a lav mic for their mouth, one for the sena speaker, ran into a splitter into the mic adapter into the go pro but that’s what I was doing and it sounded terrible no matter what I did. Different mics different placements everything.

Purple panda. Terrible popping sounds over 30 miles an hour. I’ve tried several other reputable brands

@@WIGSLY really? That mic has been the only one I’ve boughten and has been good for me. All my recent vids in the garage are with those but got one vid riding the highway with it and sounded pretty good if I remember. Gonna go revisit that vid to check it now 😂

@@WIGSLY that’s a lie the wind is kinda bad still lol. But the popping between clips I’ve figured out. J cuts and cross fades 👌
