Fixed my 2nd hand 2014 Renault Captur! So easy to do too! Saved me a lot of time taking back to dealership. Also fixed my Bluetooth that wouldn't find any devices! Thank you (Worked on my 4.0.2 version)
I've not had satnav for a good couple of years and never had any idea how to fix it, but finally got it working with this video. Thanks for helping me finally sort my car! A couple of things I observed while doing it that may help other people: The first USB I tried (a SanDisk Cruzer Blade 16GB) was not detected by the car and did not work, however I switched to a generic 2GB USB which worked fine. The 'VIN Code' section of my manual was blank, but a sticker in the back of the manual had various details on it, including a 'radio code' which worked.

Thanks. This worked for me. Please note that the updating takes (in my case) a few minutes. It installs the patch first(3 or 4 minutes maybe). Then auto reboots and installs the update. mine then went back to the radio and in my case I didn't need to enter any radio code. The Clock works now as well. 👍
Tom I wanted to say a huge thank you for the video, I had a problem that the system would load after an hour !! And I did not know what to do I asked a lot of people and in the forums everyone said that the multimedia is faulty and then I saw your video I did exactly according to the explanations and now the system goes up immediately and everything works great Just happy it worked out, thank you so much you are a good man

Also a big thank you from Denmark. One thing was that the map and navi didnt work, but it also wasnt possible to adjust time. When i pushed OK, it didnt save the new time, it do now. :)

2014 clio, the car starts downloading and after few seconds i get a message saying no file found. On the screen there is also a pop up that says Fatal error in main thread.
Good Day Tom, great videos thank you showing us how to do thing, Mate my issue with my 2016 Renault cclio Rs is : my sound system isn’t good at all the bass is very static at high volume and the sound of the song comes out static too at high volume, even after i switched iPhones thinking it would fix this issue. It’s just gotten worse . Do u think it’s the amp or the software on the Renault media screen. Many Thanks Cheers
Hello Matt, The way I see it there are multiple possible causes for this problem. It can be the Bluetooth connection between your phone and car or the amplifier itself. Software issues are possible but not very likely. There is an easy test u can do to test the quality of the amplifier. Try to play music via the aux input. This signal in an direct input for the amplifier. This way you can confirm if the Bluetooth connection might be the problem or not. If the problem persists with the aux cable, chances are there is a problem with your amplifier. Before you decide to buy a new one though, you can try to play with the audio settings or reset your system. As far as I know the USB recovery method in this video is no harm to an already normal functioning system since its trying to restore the factory defaults. So you can always try if it solves your audio troubles as well. If nothing works its most likely that there is a problem with your amplifier. Happy troubleshooting and have a nice day 😉

Na jou update lukte het mij eindelijk om ook akkoord te drukken, echter krijg ik bij navi en kaarten een black screen die niet weg gaat, telkens wanneer ik ze indruk. Weet jij hoe ik dit kan fiksen? Ik heb de zelfde systeemversie als jij, bouwjaar 2013.
Hola. Estoy en versión 4.0.5, hago el procedimiento y supuestamente va todo bien pero al finalizar sigue la misma version ( 4.0.5 ) y el botón para ver mapas del GPS está tildado, o sea, no funciona. Si a alguien le ocurre lo mismo agradeceré alguna solución.

Thanks but it doesn't work with the New Zealand system for the Cleo, When you Click Navigation icon it goes to a screen that doesn't have a 'map update' icon, I went though it all but it's a different setup and nothing has worked yet, ain't no 'map update' or even an 'option' icon anywhere.
Hi Tom. Thanks for your Video. My vehicle has the same problem and i thought i found a solution here. Unfortunately, my media nav does not recognize the upgrade (it's not the USB stick because another upgrade worked). Where did you get this solution from? Maybe there is a newer version out there? Hello. My car is the Renault Clio 1,5 dCi 90 PS and I have the edition 4.0.6. The navigation is not working and I also have a problem with the clock. The ower before me was at France and I bought it and I have it at Greece now. It shows the hour of france and it does not allow me to change it. Does the fact that navigation is not working matters? If I will try to fix it with the way you show in this video, do you believe that I will have a good result? Do you have any other solution? Thank you!

Beste Tom, mijn mediasysteem doet het niet meer sinds de accu er af is geweest. De validatiecode die bij de dealer bekend is werkt niet meer. Weet jij hoe ik dit kan fiksen.
I tried this and it was taking ages to do anything, then after waiting 30 minutes I aborted the upgrade, now my screen is completely blank and won't come on. Has anyone got any suggestions please? Thanks I advance 🙏

Hey so i have patched my medianav today because i had the same exact issue where i wasn’t able to press the agree button but now it allows me to press the agree button in maps and navi but when i do all that comes up is a black screen, i can still interact with it and i hear the navigation speaking but doesn’t show anything apart from a black screen, is there a solution to this?
Hi Tom. Just a quick question. I've done everything you said in your video. Everything was like you said. It's done it thing. I waiting till it finishes and then when I pressed Navi I was able to press OK, but when I did, my screen went black and nothing happened. Is there a time frame for how long to wait. I am confused. i just get no media found on usb. Thanks for the video though. I bluetooth or clock dont work either if anyone can help. Renault garage didnt have a clue
