How to reuse a broken TV DIY

even if the television has the screen smashed, no problem, you can still turn it into a cool lamp for your place.
I used a samsung TV that a friend of mine had dropped and had the screen destroyed. You can use anything you can find. If you have any questions just ask in the comments below.

I just did the same thing. Thanks for filming and posting your work. I watched DIY Perks post and was inspired like you. Unlike DIY Perks I just removed the broken parts. It was a cheap newish Roku that I broke spontaneously during a disagreement with a certain news coverage of a political character. I simply tested the system with the LCD screen disconnected and it worked. I put it back together and hung it up. Nice work WanderingDog. Thank you

Thanks :) If you have some older models with the thin glass lamps inside, stay tuned because next week I will publish a part 2 where I use the LED stripe instead of the built in LEDs :) Those lamps consume more and need to be placed in the special waste bin as they might contain hazardous elements such as Mercury (Hg). See you soon :D

"If you are using an older television consider getting led lights.." what is the definition of older television? What year of manufacture. Or what other information can we look for on the back of the old tv to determine whether it might have good useful led lights already attached? There are some good second hand shops near me which sometimes have old tvs free or cheap. And i would like to know how to check one in the shop to know if it already has led lights which can be used? I would like to use one with its original power source and lights

I'll do some research and add those info in part 2, it will come out soon, real life things to do permitting 🙏 Thanks for the suggestions. Anyway, what I suggest you to do is looking for broken TV's at your local junkyard, there's always stuff that gets thrown away and is a good thing to reuse it. All the stuff we reuse is less trash polluting the world.
