How to Refill Canon Colour Ink Cartridge 

One thing is to make sure the drilling device is cleaned after each drilled hole to avoid any colour mixing. Also, good idea to cover the other holes with tape when filling with ink, again to avoid any colour mixing. After this is done also a good idea to use something like aluminum tape (aluminum duct tape) over everything and then just use a pin to put a small hole for venting. This can reduce the drying effect when having the larger drilled hole, in case you are not using that much ink. Some degree of venting is apparently necessary, however. If you are making lots of photos or whatever, and will be refilling w/i a week or less, then can just leave the holes as drilled out. Yes, and the use of a toothpick before each fill will help insure you are using the correct colour for the hole.

Most thanks Catalin :-) till not long ago I thought the refilling was not possible, the Pixma MG 3570 is OK but it cost more in cartridges than the original price of the printer itself, a few days ago I bought four bottles for refill black and colours, but I'm afraid without your video it probably would have been difficult and maybe a real mess with a lot of stress, so thanks again. The easiest things sometimes are not easy when we do not know anything about the procedure👍

The sequence of filling in the holes from left to right was Cyan-magenta-Yellow (CMY). Magenta being filled on the top centred hole.

refilling ink cartridges is great to save money. it's good for used printers at garage sales, so you don't risk leaking ink in new printers.

I did it, but after refill, it doesn't printing color pages, why? (no red color)

So for your color cart, you only filled it up with 2ml? From seeing other RU-vid videos, it seems these Canon carts (the regular, XL and XXL sizes) all have the same usable volume inside, and when empty can hold around 8ml per color chamber, and at least 18ml for black. So in your video you basically only refilled the color cart back up to the same level as the start up demo cart that originally came with the printer. That means you're going to have to refill your's about 4 times as often compared to other users that have completely filled their carts. Why didn't you fill it up more?

Are those initial ink cartridges that comes with the product when you first buy it? They say that initial ink cartridges are only good for test prints and you should buy a new one. My question is can initial ink cartridges be refilled? Or is it different from the new cartridges you buy?

Printer inks are designed to clog in cheap cartridges. So what if I use an fountain pen ink. I know it drys up quickly but if their is a way to make it not dry quickly.

Don't these printer cartidges have a CHIP inside them which will ignore the actual ink and go by how many times you print?
