Welcome back to one of SR Auto Group's first episodes on refreshing a timeless classic. This episode we look at a 1997 Porsche 911/993 C2S Widebody and concentrate on the footwork. Martin, Kevin and Raymond look at the Suspension, Brakes, Wheels and Tires to bring back this classics road presence.

Great video, beautiful car too. I'd put the bottom of the Porsche shield on the wheel cap in line with the valve stem.

i was asking myself this question.i see that you changed a strut-shock on the 993 (??)...do you rebuild the old one,so you still have an extra well rebuilt as emergency part? i guess that it would worth it IF they're rebuildable ( good shocks are).

The leading piston is smaller than the trailing piston so the pads wear evenly. Also, when you lower the 993 with the stock upright the roll center goes underground and upsets the handling. The GT2 Evo upright fixes the front to some degree, but you have to be careful and not lower it too much. You forgot to corner balance the car before alignment.

Awesome video. So much knowledge shared. Thank you. A minor point... at 33:54 in your video, the point of the crest is NOT pointing at the valve stem. It's minor, but important. The point of the crest, by Porsche racing tradition, should be pointing at the valve stem... so its easier to locate during a pit stop.

Be nice to add a RUF BTR2 mod from Wiessach, BC or RUF autocenter in TX. 500+ hp single turbo rear drive monster with 18 inch RUF wheels would look so tough... Funny how the video uploaded pronounced 'Porsche' Wrong.

I know this is an old video but I've only just watched it. A couple of observations: why not change the 23 year old strut tops while you are fitting the coilovers ? Also the wheel badges always point to the tyre valve on new Porsches. Very nice car though, you should do the same on a 964.

First criticism, because you do alot of walking and moving with the camera. Fix your stabilization mode and/or get a gimbal for smoother video content. Your montage are crystal clean.

Why different center caps on the wheels? Also, that bolt in the hose kept the Varioram from ever opening. What a shame to be robbed of that experience at 5,000+ rpm when under load.

Nice car. Would’ve been a good time to remove rust between rotors and hubs. Also the rotor’s directional vanes move air away from the center of the discs.👍🏼

The 993 is super sweet kinda wish you woulda cleaned the gunk off the calipers thou maybe off camera you did . also liked the shot of the torque wrench on the wheels after seeing them getting hit with the gun . i learned long ago to make sure i can loosen my lugs in case of a flat.

993 C2S did not have Turbo 322 mm disc from the factory. Only Turbo , C4S and RS had 322 mm disc

The spring/struts are installed at the factory before engine. You are going completely opposite of factory assembly line.

This RH P-Wheels are for the 964 model, Not for 993 „normally“. Chrome nuts? Not the Black Magnesium Porsche oem‘s? And no cleaning the big red calippers? But a nice maritim blue color. Greetings from Germany Michael
