I just completed my application and there are a few new hoops to jump through to complete this, specifically about the individuals with control section...great video however you jumped ahead a bit about the section with naming directors...you have to list at least one director to proceed or it will kick you out and then very difficult to get back in...

When you opt for Federal incorporation, your business gains the ability to operate across all provinces and territories. On the other hand, if you choose to incorporate provincially, your business will be limited to operating only within that province. In case you plan on expanding your business operations into another province or territory, you'll need to go through another incorporation process for that particular region, which could lead to higher costs overall.

@@controller4hire This is not correct. Both federal and provincial corporations can operate in other provinces. In each case, the corporation has to register in each province that they operate in. This is called extra-provincial registration. If you operate from only one province and choose to register federally, you will have to register the federal corporation, AND extra-provincially register that corporation in the province the business operates from. For some provinces (including Ontario), this can be done very easily as part of the federal incorporation process. For other provinces (such as Alberta and BC), you need to complete the extra-provincial registration separately, which ends up increasing the overall cost significantly. If an Alberta corporation wishes to operate in BC, it can do so, but just like a federal corporation, it will need to extra-provincially register in BC.

I am based in Ontario and there is a 13%HST which can make me less competitive than remaining north America. @@tapiaboyz8014 It turns out HST is charged to the customer based on customers location not the company. For example a company in ontario will charge the HST applicable in British Columbia if the customer is from BC

@whiterabbit4171 but if you are selling online / amazon , they will charge you as seller selling from Ontario because thats where your business is based.
