There are two sets of f Registration formalities
Mandatory Registration and licenses
Company Registration : The Primary requirement for starting any business is Company registration. Because without having a company registration, you cannot open a current account. For every commercial activity, you need a company to represent. There various types of business entities
Proprietorship
Partnership
Limited Liability Partnership
Private limited company
One person company.
2. FSSAI: FSSAI stands for Food Safety and Standards Authority of India which is an organization that monitors and governs the food business in India. Every food business operator involved in the manufacturing, processing, storage distribution and sale of food products must compulsorily obtain FSSAI Registration or License.
Documents required for fssai registration
Form duly completed and signed by the Proprietor(Restaurant Owner).
Identity Proof
Address Proof issued by Government Authorities
List of directors and stakeholders in the business with their identity proof
Food Safety Management plan
Rental deed or Sale deed
NOCs from Municipal Corporations or local bodies.
Kitchen Layout Plan
Proof of business registration
List of Food Category
Types of equipment to be used.
3. GST registration: Gst stands for goods and service tax. Small organisations with a turnover not beyond ₹ 2,00,000 are not exempted from gst regulation. But if you are tying up with food ordering and delivery platforms like swiggy or zomato, they may insist for gst. The required documents for gst registration are:
Pan card of the applicant & owners
Aadhar card of the proprietor or partners or directors
Passport size photo of the proprietor or partner or director
Proof of business registration
Address proof of place of business
Letter of authorisation
One thing that we should follow is that if we obtain a gst registration, we are bound to submit gst returns every month.
4. Fire licence
Every restaurant which is using fire for cooking, needs to obtain fire Fire Licence/noc. Application for Fire Licence should be made to the Divisional Fire Officer, located in the Head Quarters of every district. To obtain the certificate, the building should have incorporated proper fire prevention and fire safety measures as required under the relevant fire safety rules and regulations. The Fire Licence will be issued by the Divisional Fire Officer to the applicant within 15 days from the date of presenting the application.

Trademark registration: To protect your brand and business name from misuse by malicious traders, it is better to register under Trademark Registration
ESI & PF: While your business grows, you need to employ more people. If your sprength reaches 10 members, you need to obtain ESI and PF. This is Employees State Insurance.
