For someone from the non-financial background, the aim of the CIFP is to have the base ready which is required for CFA Level 1. So yes, it does help and its good to brush up and clarify basics before moving into CFA.

Hi Dhruv, hope this helps: 1. Candidates have 180 days (6 months) from date of registration to complete the exam. 2. Each registration allows 2 attempts to pass. The exam can be repeated without re-registering as long as it is within the 180-day window. 3. Candidates can only register twice in a 12-month period.

Hi Asim, You are responsible for taking your exam no later than 180 days after you have completed your registration. You are allowed a maximum of 2 attempts per registration and maximum 2 registrations per calendar year.
