This worked thanks. Also anyone else that had a problem with no video showing up when entering safe mode. You need to manually select the hdmi on the tv.

If you do option 7 will it delete your ps account or when you do reset you can just log back in and download all your games like will fifa be saved or it’s will be deleted

So I was on the beta program and afterwards installing the updates the ps5 would randomly freeze and games started lagging also every time I turned the ps5 on it would rebuild data base so I rolled back to the previous version and the other day I was playing a game waiting for someone to get on and the system just did the standby shut down and didn’t go into rest mode and when I tried turning it back on the controller wouldn’t turn it on so I pressed the power button it tried to rebuild data base and went into safe mode telling me to reinstall the system software do you think I can get away with just updating it or do I got to loose all my games on my drive I hope I don’t loose my games on my expansion drive

All make sure no disk is inside the console. This worked for me once I removed the disk and waited over night to attempt again

After the “please wait”, it’s just came back to the previously page, and that’s it! And nothing is wrong with my usb pendrive, cause when I try to simple update the software with it, it works! But when I try the option 7, doesn’t work 🤷🏻‍♂️

When I select number 7 it gives me the following error: "Can't perform this operation. Multiple USB drives are connected. Disconnect all usb drives, connect only one and try again" however only 1 USB and the remote are plugged in. Or do I need a usb-c to usb-c cable to do this? anyone has a fix?

Mine did the same after downloading the beta program software it was buggy so I went back to the original software and I just had the same thing happened was playing a game and was waiting for someone to get on and it just shut down no rest mode and now want’s me to reinstall software if I have to reinstall every game I’m a be so mad.. guess I’m just going back to my series x no problems with it

My PS5 is basically bricked… Not sure if it’s the HDMI port or what but it comes up in a safe mode loop, I’ve tried updating the system with a USB, I’m about to try this.

@@Mindstormer it did. I installed it into a hard drive and downloaded it onto the PlayStation and it started working. I’ve also noticed they’re very finicky with hdmi cords as well. Give that a shot first before restoring it. Your saved and everything go to your PSN so they’ll be restored

My ps5 bricked after this most recent update for the ds edge to work. I can't update via internet, can't manually update via USB. Did a factory reset to get back to main screen, but can't play games or buy new games without signing into playstation network. Can't sign into Network without the newest update. So I tried option 7 in Safe mode (reinstall software). It does the same thing. They all get to 95-99% and says "something went wrong." Any help would be great

Something went wrong with the system. I tried to clean the cache and rebuild the database . When im playing Madden 24, it just shut down. Then i get the Something went wrong with your system software error. Smh .Help!!!!

I don't understand why or how you downloaded it to your phone. As long as your naming the files correctly and downloading the correct one and following all these steps, it should read it

I have found a fix!!!! I have done everything from this video and more and nothing fixed it. For cod, download the ps4 version of the game. On the home menu press start while hovering over cod and select the ps4 version of the game instead of ps5. Haven’t crashed or froze yet since doing this

Basically play the ps4 version on the ps5. Sometimes may be a bit choppy but still way better than freezing every game. I assume u can do this with every other game. Play the ps4 version on the 5

Yea the ps4 games work w.o crashes but what about the only ps5 titles. Not gonna lie this is really disappointing being restricted to play ps4 games on a ps5. And what about when you cant play with your friends bc there playing on the ps5 version😢

Purchase my PS5 on December 23rd, 2021. Just January 24th I suddenly started getting the green screen and crashes after downloading "Days Gone". I did a Reset and then it didn't make it through the process without it showing the green screen of death. After it shut down I then tried the lastest update option. It worked somewhat as I was able to set things up and download a PS5 game, which worked. Then after 2 PS4 downloads of other games, which show the green screen and crashed, I then tried a digital download of a game off of PlayStation Now. That also showed the green screen and crashed. Game file shows corrupted game data alert. I'm currently at the moment waiting for the box from PlayStation, to send it back for a repair or replacement, lol.

not sure what is going on, my system is stuck on safe mode. i ran through each and every single option. nothing has worked. AND i tried the USB and it just takes me back to the error code screen that says "connect a usb drive that contains an update file..." genuinely dont know what to do. this is so random. never had any issues or bugs for the last 2 years, i was playing it earlier today, hopped back on and now all these warnings out of nowhere

@@leweegiggles i had to enter safe mode multiple times because i tried basically every single option, then i came to this video and followed his steps exactly and it worked. make sure you've tried all the other options before trying this one, and also make sure that when you do try this, you have the correct file on the usb and the correct format. other than that, i didnt do anything else, after it allowed me to update, it was fine... my friend's one just broke last week though, not sure whats going on with these machines but his one is tweaking out too

Because ever since I got mine for christmas I’ve had problems where every time I turn it on it crashes and forces me to reinstall the system software and it’s so annoying waiting hours for my games to download. I thought that it would be a normal bug that would be fixed with the system software update that came out this week but it’s the same thing so I now think it’s just my ps5

@kitsune1678 ....wow, I never did have issue with 360. The new consoles such as PS5 I had to send to Sony twice in 8mths. I liked it but I got fed up with the update issues. I went back to the Xbox series X. Never had anything happen with it even when updating

Dont do this without knowing the risks, the download process is not secure and when you download it from playstation your computer (should you have a firewall worth a f*ck) it will tell you your download will not be secure and any hacker/maleware/etc can piggyback on the download and hop right into your computer. If your system is still in warranty just send it back to playstation 4 repair/replacement. I've only heard of one malware attack from this, so it is not common, yet it's a risk. If your warranty is expired and u need to go through this process make sure you have both a anti virus software on your computer and a vpn. Malware protection is a must.
