Post more gameplay! Whether it’s edited down or not the main attraction is your commentary because I have shifted from top to jungle with yorick to make things fresh and interesting
I didn't cover runes in the video, so i'll quickly cover runes and items here: For runes, you should take: Domination (Primary): Hail of Blades, Cheap Shot, Eyeball Collector and Ultimate Hunter. Precision (Secondary): Legend: Haste, Cut Down. For items, I would STRONGLY suggest: Blue/Red Smite > Stridebreaker > Boots 1 (at least, if not boots 2) > Shojin > Liandry's > Hollowed Radiance > Black Cleaver. The last three item's can be moved around, and/or replaced entirely. The stridebreaker tech is new but resurrected entirely due to running ultimate hunter. Without ultimate hunter, there is far too low cooldown reduction in this build to get enough use out of maiden splitting so it's almost a requirement to be used alongside it. Stridebreaker gives you MUCH LOWER room for error, allows you to escape nasty scenarios and power clear when you need to/nothing else to do. Shojin rush is still strong, but I personally think the stridebreaker rush gives you more opportunities to be useful throughout the game.
Thanks Ninetales; was going to ask about the runes :D Do you consider this setup better than Conqueror in all situations, or are there times/comps/matchups where you'd still run Conq?
@@dhabu9017 You can go Conqueror with this setup, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Conqueror is good for autopiloting, but as long as you get both precision + domination, you won't have any issues at all.
@@NinetalesOCE i swear i can be your stuntman we have the same hair length, same nose, same shoulders and arms and chest and facial features. not the exact same beard but its super similar. and i reached diamond playing yorick.
Whoa!! It’s THE Yorick Main! I remember playing back when you were running Yorick Jungle BEFORE it was cool. It’s so cool to see you around still. I am really glad to see you’re still teaching people to play 🅱️orick. I really stand by the fact that you are one of the best Yorick mains to exist. I would love to see the original Yorick extensive matchup guide be updated one day. I would love to do it myself but honestly I don’t know that I am qualified to build that guide back out. I have had my success playing Midrick with Arcane Comet, it’s very nice. Good to see you man!
Brah compared to season 7, this Yorick is so weak lmao. I remember hitting level 3 and running into the enemy jungle and one shotting the opponents. Nowadays I have to farm and hope for a mid game spike! I'm probably going to be more likely to do a RU-vid guide, but I'm not familiar with any editing so I'm pretty unhappy with most of the videos I make. Will hopefully come in time, I've got a big July planned so stay tuned.
I feel so blessed to find this video, i never ever tried to release maiden before and this really shows the potential, she took an obj every time! That's crazy good and cooking as well with the hollow radiance, i really might consider playing him again because all i did was lethality yorick from slogdog, crazy good video I'm jelaous 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥
Appreciate the kind words! There will be more videos coming soon, and I’ll be working on a jungle clear video which will probably be the most important one out of the bunch.
Awesome find and explanation. This is my exact core build and strategy as a former SC2 Zerg player, been doing this since Hollow Radiance came out and posted this early on the yorickmains reddit as a proponent for the item with the chain explosions proc'd from ghouls/maiden. but sometimes I build tankier or bruiser to suit my team needs
I find it to be by far the funniest way of winning a game. Especially when you're playing a team fight and meanwhile maiden is pushing a t2 tower. It's actually so addictive.
@@NinetalesOCE Its just so difficult to tell a team to not wipeout with a 5second premature skirmish, and instead do a slow contest but 5hey always want to ARAM 1-2 minutes before an objective spawns
I have been playing this style as support. I just rush multiple caulfields hammer due to low gold income. Manipulating lanes and causing "global" pressure just makes feel like a general commanding the battlefield.
How the hell do you get away with Yorick support lol. It's so hard to even get into game, so many people troll and flame me when I tried it. It has so much potential definitely but it needs a way to get through the early game without your adc having a brain meltdown. The support item is so broken on us tho
This playstyle is exactly the reason I love yorick.. nothing but push.. push push, towers win games lol. I hope we get to play it a while longer before people start to pick up on how strong it is and complain/nerf it
I don't think this will ever get addressed. His winrate isn't overly high and nobody uses this style at all. I don't think there is anyone that consistently splits maiden at all.
As a Yorick main and previous mid I love this playstyle. I admit after the buff I tend to go for Grudge over Black Cleaver instead and very rarely go Hollow but Edge of night. Plus it's funnier to have maiden solo kills. My only problem is I make too much money and some games I'm 700 GPM and like 5k I can't spend.
You'll probably prefer the version in my newest video if that's the case. I have a variant where you run profane > shojin > liandrys which gives you the option to go either grudge or cleaver. It snowballs by far the best but it's much harder to play than the usual Yorick build. Definitely give it a shot if you haven't already tried it. Take it with domination and precision for max cdr.
@NinetalesOCE yeah I just watched it. I used to run hail too all the previous seasons on Yorick but first strike just feels way too good now. Usually 2 items ahead of enemy jungle and 3-5 levels.
It's a bit silly, but lately I've been experimenting with a hybrid/Ap Yorick build that uses Malignance, just to have that ult cooldown reduction. While it doesn't do anything for ghouls, It's not the worst thing in the world, as the pools it generates do shred MR, which makes Liandry's better and also makes the magic damage portion of the maiden passive hit harder. The main benefit is just that you can release her way more often.
How do you even proc the pool? As far as I knew, you can't actually trigger the pool at all so you're buying it for everything except the passive effect.
Nah top you need demolish and you wont have access to stacking the ultimate hunter as much as you need. I think cleaver first is still good for top lane, but I would have resolve somewhere in your paths. The build itself is perfect fine for top lane, but ya gotta play a different style of split + group so it’s not a natural style for most players. Will take getting used to!
I’ve tried Stattik quite a lot - after a lot of testing I’ve come to the conclusion that Hollowed Radiance is just a better version of stattik. The ghouls don’t get enough of the stats and the proc damage has too long of a cooldown to work well with our side splitting. Personally i think hollowed is 10x the item Stattik wants to be.
You’re not wrong at all, i think the way you described it is much better. Generally i won’t drop maiden unless im level 11 with 2 items, but if there is an opportunity to drop her for a boost in gold, i will drop her before then.
I've been playing Yorick jungle as a one trick for 7 years and probably have the most games of it out of any player. I'd probably say you could get a very strong handle of it in a week, but all the small things and gauging your power will come in a lot more time.
are there any enemy picks or comps that make you think "yea this is a yorick game" or "maybe its a flex angle"? or do you just ball and pick him every game
I ball and pick him every game, but there are definitely matchups that are near impossible. Most of the 'bad' matchups you'll find are anything AP heavy - Ekko, Karthus, Elise, Nidalee, Taliyah. These champions don't spend time farming extensively because they either AOE the camps so quickly that they don't need to waste time, or they power gank and ignore farm entirely. But that being said, i'd probably put Ekko as the worst match-up in general - i can't remember the last time i actually beat him. Luckily he isn't picked enough to ban. The only AD champion that will give you a hard time is Kindred and Graves if they play very invasive heavy. Personally, I ban graves when i'm on OCE and ban Lee Sin on Korea since every second jungler mains lee sin.
I tried running DH / Electrocute for a bit too. It honestly isn't that bad, HOB just has so much burst so it works really well when you catch someone out. It's weird because during my korean climb, i found my winrate in emerald to be MUCH lower than diamond. I'm hovering around d2 right now still throwing random builds out, and it is much easier to win in higher ranks with the pick in general.
@@NinetalesOCE Maybe its just playstyle. I like just sending my fellas down a lane when i clear camp, which with profane + grudge + red pet usually guarantees a DH stack.
@@NinetalesOCE oh sorry, i wasn't making fun of your language useage. you literally are absorbing everything. Seems way better than the titanic + demonic embrace build from before. i barely play league anymore but this looks very strong which ill try. Way better than building ravenous hydra, actually being tanky with better ghoul + maiden splits
@@noahtheknower oh lol I don't mind either way. It's a very exhausting playstyle, I find after 4 to 5 games I'm mentally fatigued and need a decent break. I wonder if anyone else noticed the same after they play it for a few tries
@@NinetalesOCE yeah, now that i think about it, i would only play 2-3 games a day. Getting flamed all game as jungler doesn't help. Then you usually get a big bounty from all the farm, die once then game is ruined lol. Harder and more methodical approaches to winning are needed. Cant just run in and faceroll the enemy when ahead as yorick.
