Welcome! I am an aspiring polyglot with a degree in Linguistics. I speak English, Spanish, French, and Esperanto, and I'm currently working on Thai. I make videos twice a week to talk about my methods of learning languages and to try to help others make language learning faster, easier, and more fun.

I don't know much Spanish but I now know the word for pinch!

I don't usually make up stories, but I did notice you made the motion of a pinch every time you said the word. This is something that I intentionally do when learning new words. I've noticed that my brain can often recall connections between words and motions much better than just between words and other words, probably because I'm connecting it to its actual meaning rather than just making a link to my native language. If anyone walked in on my while I was doing it, I'd probably look like a crazy person gesturing to myself, but it works for me haha. I also don't really stress out about forgetting words, because I figure if they're important I'll see them again, and eventually they'll stick. But methods like these can be great for remembering words that you need to remember for a test or something.

I've been doing this for Italian and I am learning 10 words a day, putting these stories on Anki and I always remember them, I'm finding it so easy to remember every word using this method. What's also good is that I speak to native speakers at least twice a week so that I can really activate all those words. Great advice! From Wales :)

Wow 😂...with this story, there's no way I'd ever forget the word for 'pinch' in Spanish. Nice one 👍🏾

Oh my gosh dude that’s a hilarious story I’m totally trying that from now on. Right know I’m learning Korean, Japanese, and chinese(mandarin) and creating a story for the character makes it so much easier to remember
