What I like most, and I really appreciate all your expertise, but what stands out is that you didn't use your girlfriend in a bikini as clickbait

Great stuff! Looking forward to remodeling my galley sometime in the near future. Those side rails had me wondering. Thanks for the post!

Thanks for the comment. The rails take some patience and some maneuvering.

***** There are sooooo many things to watch out for especially when buying a fixer upper. You have to know what your looking at. It really is cheaper in the long run to buy a nicer boat. I can't tell you what it would cost to redo because it would vary drastically depending on what is needed. This one is not my boat.

DUDE! Nice work but PLEASE... Put on a dust mask when sanding and a respirator and gloves when using acetone and contact cement. Especially in that small work area.

I'm a boat builder. I dont want to pick holes in your work, because its very professional. When I fit veneers and laminates in wet areas like the galley and heads with showers. I put a one each boarder off epoxy glue and the remaining area has contact cement. The contact cement holds the laminate down and the epoxy seals the outside edges. It also makes a lot easier to position the laminate. I hope this helps your fans.

I like your work a lot. I'm a cabinet maker by trade so I have one question. Why work with the spaces full of personal belongings? Nothing worse that working around that stuff. Why not just empty those spaces? Not enough there for it to be a chore.
@Mrsouthernsurvivor

You can use a cabinet file to get the burr off the edges of the laminate.

Your carpentry skills rival your video production capabilities. Thank you for providing very thorough videos. I’m refitting my galley and interested in your thoughts about laminate and veneer selections and material sourcing. Matching teak veneers is challenging and sourcing reasonably priced materials even harder. Any thoughts? Dave
@RippleLife
@RippleLife 8 лет назад
Thank you very much Dave. Really wish I could help but when I had to find teak I just looked online for what I needed. it really is the only way now. It really is hard to even just find railings. I had to wait two months for the rails in this galley to be made in I think it was Philippines. But there are a few distributors you will find during a search. Sorry I couldn't help more.

No worries, thank you again. Unfortunately, trial and error sometimes is the only alternative.

Thanks for your great video on galley fit out. So you wan a know what I wan know... Just removed that nasty rubber mat stuff old folk like on the deck, extra grip stuff well it nearly fell off it was so old but the contact adhesive will not. 80grit sanding disc is that the best and followed by gel coat textured no slip surface, do you use a textured roller??

Yeah a little stone back splash behind sinks and tap would be nice...

Show how you can add railings around your boat, the steps in side the boat and hand rails on the roof of the boat so if the water is real rough.you can hold on as your inside the boat. Also can you build a crows nest on your mast? Also can boats have figure heads?

Nice man, thanks. I'm trying to find out how one can remodel a rear berth. For eg I'm looking at Catalina 38 or C&C 34 and they have these fiberglass molds, on which the cushions are. I wanna know how I could take those out and do something else with that space. If u know any source pls let me know.

Really nice video and well made! And i don't want to be picky but wouldn't it be healthier to wear a mask or something when sanding inside a closed space like a boat?
@RippleLife
@RippleLife 7 лет назад
thank you and you are right. You should wear a mask in an enclosed place. I did have decent ventilation. And I took a lot of breaks to be safe about it. normally I would wear one but I was in between buying a new one lol. No excuse though lol.

Next time use a drywall screw start it in the center of the of your bungs or plugs and as soon as the screw hits the fastener the threads will pop the plug right out
@RippleLife
@RippleLife 4 года назад
Yep that works too lol. But you'll still have to clear it and if its epoxy or glued then not as easy. A really good tip for everyone thanks for the comment and idea.

Hi, unfortunately im not in the position to do that. And to be honest i have never done a wall like that. But i would think it is very similarly done. I have a video on how to prep and apply. Ill reply a link to it when i get to my system.
