Hey hey! Props to you for making this video and sharing to everyone. Looks like you have quite the project to complete on the 2000 Civic! So much engine work and body work! Most people would have already given up! But if you like it and find joy in fixing it then all power to you.
hey man if your still active how did you manage to remove it? i tried removing it from the junkyard and it started to sizz so im wondering if there’s a way to remove it without almost making it blow
@@glxtch9068 yeah man, still here. To answer your question, you'd have to evacuate the system if you are replacing the evap. Sucks but there it is. How you do that, whether ethically or unethically, is up to you. I would, of course, urge anyone evacuating an AC system to not knowingly release the refrigerant stored within into the atmosphere but not everyone has access to the proper means of evacuation. Any part you are replacing specifically?
@@crypticscrutiny1153 i’m replacing the heater box but i can’t seem to be able to remove it. i think the heater box is attached to the box that is connected to the evaporator. its a pain i’ve been working on it for almost a day now and im getting sick and tired of it. do you know if there’s a way to remove the heater box without removing the evaporator?
@@glxtch9068 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mSPfUIJqqgA.htmlfeature=shared I believe you are saying that you need to remove your AC core? When dropping your glove box out of the way, you would be looking at your AC core to your left and blower motor to your right. This is a good video for such a job if you've not yet seen it. Let me know if the AC core isn't what you are referring to. This core can be removed without the need to evacuate your refrigerant. Just tedious.
@@crypticscrutiny1153 i’m talking about the middle column that’s all the way to the left where the heater core goes. it’s called the heater box and i can’t take it out. the valves broke and need to be replaced. i’m trying to take off all the boxes because it seems as if they are connected to eachother but i don’t want to remove the evaporator in order to remove the boxes
Your the shit bro just did head gasket radiator and thermostat and changed ac compressor went to charge it today and I know it's the txv thanks for showing me how to take everything off AND put it back together your awesome bro
Hello good morning I'm so sorry for the confusion I'm not the one who was editing my videos I have since fired that person and I'm going to fix this sorry for the confusion have a grate day
@@josegsrt5248 if you dont mind me askin were you from and great video i appreciate the work tou doing im trying to start making you tube videos and its a procces but keep up the great content and knowledge i appreciate the help you provided
Yeah this is an extremely easy job. The first time I did it I couldn't get it out. It felt stuck on something. After I inspected, I noticed I didn't pull the hose off on the bottom. Once I did that it just fell down. Since then I have removed 3 of them and they all took me under 10 min to remove. It's extremely easy.
@josegsrt i have a massive water leak every time it rains i get puddles of water 😅I traced it somewhere behind blower core assembly. Can the entire blower core assembly be removed independent of the heater core or i will need to take entire heater core assembly first to then be able to remove the entire blower core to have access to the passenger corner of firewall?
I've literally asked people about how to do this including the Honda dealership. They told me it's a job for a professional to do and is very timing consuming. Honda wanted to charge me like 400 dollars. This dude literally removed it in 5 minutes with one hand.
@@josegsrt5248 I'm doing mine tomorrow. Did you use a swivel socket on any of those back bolts. I watched another video on this and they were saying a swivel socket is needed for the back bolts.
I did it, I removed mine today. It took me like 20-30 minutes. Bad news is the evaporator is shot. It's so gunked up there no way cleaning will save it. I have to get another one. This is probably why my A/C wasn't very cold. There was dirt and grim welded in between the fins.
Thank you for the information man. I have a question I have a 98 crv the heater isn't working. Please give an idea what exactly is wrong with it when i turn on its stars to smell bad and smoke come out on when I turn the heart
Honestly that sounds like the heater core its self is damaged but start off by looking ate the blower fan first make sure there's no damage or anything in it then get the cooling system pressure tested that should give you an idea of what's happening
can you do a video on how to have heat, i have no heat and i don't think the fan is working either, so can you help me i'm a mom here with no help, i will have to do this task myself
Hey I was wondering if you could show how to remove and replace the the lower brace on the 2000 Honda Civic that connects both sides of the suspension together. I know it connect alot of stuff at the rear underside of the engine bay and both the lower control arms connect going twards the rear of the car? Think I said that right. I forgot what it's called I
@@josegsrt5248 it's the big metal piece thats at the bottom its part of the subframe the suspension parts connect to. I also believe the steering rack goes threw it aswell. So I'm assuming it's the kframe/ subframe and yes I'd like to restore it to be my daily with OEM parts if possible. But don't mind a upgrade that's better than OEM.
