Thank you so much for this! I had no idea how to take down my ceiling fan. It was VERY heavy and over my bed which was hard to access. I took off all my blades first before I took it down bc it was quite heavy. I couldn't have done it without this video!

When you say make sure the power is off, are you referring to just turning it off or going to the fuse box and cut power?

cut the power from the breaker- you don't want to handle live wires

I just took of a ceiling fan and put up a new one without turning off the breaker. Just turned off the light switch.

Works great.

My lady broke our ceiling fan off and it ripped off the wires and idk what to do to make the wires safe there’s no switch that goes specifically to the bedroom to turn off the power to it

You could turn off the main power to the whole house and put some electrical tape over the exposed ends of the wires temporarily, but you should probably get an electrician out if you’re not sure.

It’s 2023, iF we hire someone to take our ceiling fan down, and install a regular light fixture, how much should we pay someone to do this? We need a ballpark figure, we don’t want to be taken advantage of, and we want to be fair in our payment.. anyone have any thoughts on that?

Ask if they charge by the job or the hour. If by hour is there a minimum charge, meaning 2-3 hours. Also are you or the installer providing the replacement fixture. Putting in a light isn't that difficult, plenty of videos on how to do it.
