I perform the task of removing a hydraulic pump from an Exmark lazer Z commercial mower. The pump was aerating and needed rebuilt. I thought it would be a good idea to make a video on how to remove these pumps. I m sure it is probably similar on other commercial zero turn mowers. Any questions please do not hesitate to ask. Old Skool is Lazer-Z best Skool. I love my 2003 ExMark Lazer-Z. Just got a NEW KOHLER 22.5 for installed today. Haven't fired it yet. Figured I'd service the Hydraulic system while it's down this far. I am guessing they still want Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 15/50 and that stuff is really hard to find. This video is BY FAR the BEST ExMark Lazer Z service video I have come across on You Tube. Easy to understand what he is saying and showing. Great Lazer Z video Handy Man. Keep up the good work, thanks for your time making and posting this video.

Thanks for the video! Question. What year is this mower? I’m getting ready to work on a Laser Z, however the pump pulleys are under the mower. Just wondering as I am not sure of the year I have so trying to see if the pump removal is the same? Thanks

Are you handling the camera as well as doing the work? Some shots were very hard to keep up with. Is there a reason you took the hyd. lines off of the drive motor as opposed to the pump? Thank you your video did help.

OK so how do you get the pully off the pump cuz my 2006 lazer z 52 you have to take the pully off and there's 2 set screws. Everything is off and pully won't come off so I can replace or service the pump. Pickle fork? Small pully puller

Or put a wrench on that nut firmly attached to the tensioner and push it.

hey maybe u can help. i have the same mower. my drive motor came loose on the left side and 2 bolts snapped. i need to remove the brake drum. dou know if i need a puller to remove it?

Is there a video? On this procedure? Mine! Did the same thing! The lower bolt, on hub assembly, broke. And allowed the wheel, fold Up! Under the fuel tank. I bought new bolts, grade 8. But haven't gotten a chance, to fix it. It looks basic!? But I would like to Know! What Not! To Do! 😊😊. ThankYou! For Your time! I think All! The bolts, must have loosened up, over time. And the bottom bolt, loosened so much! The Nut, broke off! Allowing the bolt, to let loose, from the frame. Mine has been Rode Hard! But Still!! Takes a Beating! Love My ExMarx! 2005. 60" cut.

Yes same thing I’m experiencing... I’m reading more comments same issue. This video doesn’t work for when you have to pull pump through. How did you disconnect the pulley? Those two square nuts need to be removed.

What model is that? I want to replace my pulleys with the smaller ones like you have. Mine will not fit through the hole without taking it off first. It is a pain!!!

@@Jabboy8 You have to use a puller to get the pulleys off. That's what I had to do. Apparently our mowers have larger pumps/pulleys.

I leave the cap off and just move the drive handles forward and reverse until I here the pump stop whining. That check the fluid level.

The pull on mine (an 08 lazer Z) won't fit though the hole and I can't get the pull off? What should I do

The RH hydro pump more difficult to remove - the pump doesn’t simply pull out towards the end. You MUST remove the pulley. Any idea for what tool to use to remove the two square nuts holding pulley on? Hopefully I also don’t need a pulley remover in order to get pulley off after that....

Yeah the pulley doesn’t fit through the hole as he claims. Use a 3/8” 12 point socket for the square set screws. I realize this is a year old comment, I’m just replying in hopes of saving someone else the aggravation. The bottom 9/16” pump bolt requires a flex socket and extension and is a little tricky to reach with only a small hole in the frame.

I recently replaced my first first hydro pump when I go forward it goes in reverse and backwards is reverse I changed everything from the old pump and install it how I took it off anyone know where I went wrong.

Did the same just flipped the hoses over...i replaced mine from an old mower and used the opposite (right side)pump from one i replaced, do they have left and right specific pumps

@@JesuszillaCorp as far as I know they don't both pumps look the same also I did try switching the hoses it still was the same forward was backwards.
