Thanks for showing a new jeeper like myself how to remove the front and rear bumpers. My Jeep is making some noise in the exhaust and believe it’s the muffler bearings! Glad you guys sell them. 😉

Just put JCRs winch front bumper with prerunner on my xj. Absolutely love it! Fit real well. I'm sure you'll love their rear bumper

Thanks for your videos, this is only the second one that I have watched but both have been very helpful. I will have to remove my bumper to get access to put in a new set of nut strips, so I can re-attach my tow equipment. I twisted the S#*t out of the stock ones getting those bolts out. I just ordered new ones from JCR today. Later will come a gas tank skid plate. Thanks again.

My XJ is a 1993, so there's that much more rust on the bolt threads since it's the original bumper. 28 years of driving & I had to back into the planter box at the end of my driveway. At least I was able to find another 93 bumper to at least keep it all stock 1993... Just wanted to watch & see if you used heat or just blaster on the bolt-threads. Thx for the upload... Edit: I removed the 4 bolts from the bumper instead of the 8 from the bracket. I was able to bend that plastic strip up enough to get the 2 top bolts out. Now I'll work on seeing if I can blast those 8 bolts in order to take them out. 7 actually because the 1st one snapped off.... Bummer........

That XJ looks like a 1992 to 1996 going by the Tail Lights & trim. In 1996-97 they changed the tail light design and trim packages and offered that style & other trim packages till 2000 or 2001, I just can't remember off hand.....

Yeah I was about to put my new bumper on tonight.. I have a aftermarket hitch... Short story I didn't finish it tonight..... Not only that but the PO screwed it up. This job it gonna suck

What year is that Cherokee? With my 99, it seems like getting to those 4 bolts is difficult.

Not sure if ur gonna see this but my 98 xj has 1 bolt on the bottom on each side and 1 bolt IN the bumper on each side and the ones in the bumper are practically impossible to get to Any suggestions ?

thanks! got it out with a socket and a rusted metal pipe , now its time to install my nates 4x4 bumper and see how this bad boy fits on

FYI, those bolts hold the bumper to the brackets then the brackets still come off. The mounts are the same for all XJ's no matter what the year is.

Buuuuut if you have the towing package UHaul hitch, you can't get a very good angle to those 4 bolts.

bleepinjeep Yeah, I have the tow package and I can't get to them without removing the bumper from the brackets. The top bolt, up inside the brackets seems to be a different size than the others. Can anyone tell me what size they are?

Agree! My 1990 xj had a towing package and it was a pain to get that shit out. Had to rip the plastic on top of the bumper away since I could not reach the bolts otherwise. Also I had four bolts under the car wish was all rustad. Had to bring out the saw..
