The joists the props are supporting run in the wall so by supporting the joists they push up on the brickwork holding the wall in place. Good practice to look and check there’s no gaps above joists to bricks and if so then pack them

you propped up the up stairs floors. but what was supporting the upstairs wall!?

The supporting wall is likely to have been supporting the ends of the joists upstairs where they meet hence having props either side. Confused me for a moment too

What brand/model are those shoring posts. Plz let me know 🙏. Much rather use those than build a stud wall.

Some times I think the wall is mostly on the slab acting as a wall load or on a beam. In this case I presume it was on the slab of there was any above. So focus is the slab as each panel is supported by the load bearing wall. Could be wrong but that's what I suppose

I had the same job and I paid around £1,300 includes Beams, demolition, repair walls and painting

Generally, you don't need to apply for planning permission for internal alterations, including removing internal walls, depending on whether your wall is load-bearing or not, you may need approval from your council.
