How to remove a PS3 disc from a YLOD PS3 

still works like a charm after I have sent my PS3 for a reballing, boots as good and I managed to retrieve the game saves before migrating to another new slim PS3.

This is what I wanted to find out. Thank you! I keep seeing these vids and trying it but it does nothing and now I know why.

go look for a reballing service to revive the PS3, it's not a permanent fix to the YLOD problem and will recur in another few months' time, so you still have the time to backup all your game saves and migrate to the slim PS3, which shouldn't have YLOD issues anymore. The reballing costs should be cheaper than the Far Cry disc. :)

Thank you so MUCH!! The hairdryer trick didn't work and my far cry 3 disc was far more valuable than my shitty 40 gb phat ps3 :) Only if I could transfer my saves somehow to a outer HDD now :/

the fan test will not hurt your ps3 there is a safety switch built in when you do it it kills power to your ps3 to keep from messing up anything

@dago6364 so the ps3's with 4 usb slots are the 40gb ones that dont work?? This isnt working for me either and i have skyrim in it.... :(((

i think it just works for like the newer old version (fat but 2 usb ports)

I can't get my disc out still. Is there any other way to get it out

so i guess im fucked then, the last time this happened i send it to sony repairs but i did not get my game back that was stuck in it and they told me they werent responsible for misplacing the game!

mine doesn't work. i have to tear the POS apart to get my disc.

Even when I hold on to he eject disc, turn it off and on still hiolding, it doesn't do the fan test bit, it just turns off again!

When I got YLOD on my 60GB PS3 I just turned it on and pushed the eject button and my World at war came out.

Help me obi one, this just doesn't work for me. Can't seem to get the fan test going to pop the game out. Wait 5 years for gta5 and within a week my PS3 takes a dive.

*moojo98 I fixed it by having t reeled and re glue shit inside it..didn't cost too much but it broke again. Luckily the new slim only costs 169! :P

it worked for me. i got the gt5 disc out of ps3 but the console is fucked

GTA V problem too, this doesn't work for me it won't even go into the fan test

@dago6364 I had this problem so I took a hammer to it to the blu-ray drive... guess what the hammer won!
