Hi, as asked before but didn't get an answer unfortunately. Why did you take the alternator off for? What was the issue in your charging system in the end? I'm about to take mine off as if I disconnect the battery while running the car dies. If it was an older car I'd just get a new alternator. BMW has so many things that cause other issues that I can't be positive it is the alternator. Anyways looking forward to your response. Only other thing I can think of is the reg/rec, but isn't that on the back of the alternator anyway?
Hey on a side note, you said your alternator was fine. What ended up being the problem? I have a 97 540i as well and my charging light came on. I only got 31,281 miles on this bad boy so i'm thinking my alternator might still be good but I figured with your video I can start checking the connections at least.
How would I remove the belt before I remove the alternator and then how would I put the belt back on once the new alternator is in place? Thanks again for your helpful videos..
Question I have a have a 2008 bmw 335i if my serpentine belt is ripped and if I replaced it will everything go back to normal because it seem my alternator gave out but I think it was cause I noticed my belt was ripped
Thanks for the detailed videos. Quick question I bought a 97 BMW 528 and now the battery light is on. The battery seems to be only a year old and the manual says its probably the alternator or drive belt. The belt seems ok too so I'm guessing it must be the alternator. Is there anything else you think it might be? Thanks Karl
I Will test my altenator cause the engine stall efter 10 min, evry time i turn it give bad signal to camshift sensor,,! Theone i have its90,, can replace it with 120 new one?
How commonly do these alternators go out? My n54 just had one go out. fucking annoying job man. now my coolant hose to the oil filter housing isnt seating. under load it just backs off and spews everywhere
Viren Patel not really. It really depends if you have lot of aftermarket electronics in the vehicle. “Stereo” Or a bad battery or bad starter. Can cause the alternator to go bad. Or the other way around.
