All of the 120’s are awesome. They get the kids introduced to the sport in safe and controlled manor. It also gets them out of the house during the winter which is a bonus.

Great video. Thank you. And, keep the mini Z videos coming. I got one for my boy last year and I'm having a hell of a time keeping in running. It's been modified, and I'm thinking it's either the carb or the governor...

No problem. I’m going after the driveshaft this weekend. Also the tensioner is whacked out Take a look at the carb first. There’s no filter on the fuel system and it would t take much to plug that main jet and stop it.

Thanks for making this video. Im working on the kids sleds all the time with few videos. We have the same as your video 05 mini z. So far ive done clutch sprokets chain idlers and most recently the coil.(wouldve loved a video on that one). Got fire and now runs but bogs so now your video came in handy. I wouldn't have thought the seat to get back to the carb. Thanks for the time saver👍. Any hop up kits in the future on the minis?

Glad it helped you out. Nothing planned yet, the sled went to Brian's house for Christmas for the kids and right now they're getting some time on it. The Skis were swapped out with some C&A's since the metal one's were getting tired. I spent a lot of time "tweaking" and "correcting" the driveline and the chain adjuster but it was such a convoluted process that when I looked at the footage, a lot of it didn't make sense since I was changing the plan mid stream. lol

Wow that carb was a mess, good 'ol ethenol fuel does it again. Looks like that engine is the same as some mini bike engines, a four stroke I'm guessing? Nice fix, runs like a champ. Streeter to the rescue!!

I think this has to be the worst one I've seen in a while.

A one of a kind video should get you some exposure.

This Mini Z must be assembled in Canada based on the "square drive" (Robertson) screws to remove the seat. Looks to be an actual Honda GX series motor based on the carburetor design. Most "knock offs" don't have the fuel shut off / inlet fuel bowl. The Honda GX series engines are extremely reliable and are simply superior to the copy cats. Just use low or no ethanol fuel (no corn syrup). Also, a tether cord is a must. These little sleds often find themselves rubber side up. Kids are resilient however, 4 strokes don't work well upside down.

Yep. Honda GX120. Kids already rode it a couple times over Christmas break. They were happy.

Hi. Good video. I have a question for you. On that comment you made regarding the plates doubled up on the drive axle bearing. I have a 2000 mini z that as far as I know has never been taken apart, and the plates on the drive axle are doubled up. I have a shop manual for the machine and the pics in it seem to show the plates doubled up on one side like they are. I know you pointed it out to be wrong, so I’m trying to figure out which way it’s supposed to be. I have an issue worth the drive axle being out of alignment. The machine kept throwing the chain and this is a common known factory problem. The axle is supposed to slide over once I loosened the stop collar on that right side but I can’t get it to budge. Any info you have on it would be welcome! Thanks.

to remove the driveshat you need to press out the roll pins that are holding the drivers ins place. Once the pins are removed, the driver can be slid to the right and it'll allow you to slide the shaft out. It's a horrible design. They were never meant to be serviced apparently.
