Thanks for this mate. I recently bought a e53d that runs smooth and strong but is smoky on start up and hard acceleration. It also stinks when running. Shall give this a go.

Hi, great video! Is there a throttle body on this engine! Mine looks the same, but I see some videos on the M57, and they have a throttle body before the EGR! I want to clean my throttle body, but can't find where it is! Thank you!

I want to do this too soon, but one question: when i checked the egr like you did with the camera, i noticed that there is oil as well in there and seems to be coming in or through the intake hose. Should i be worried about that or is it from the turbo? I heard a mechanic say some turbos work on oil vapor.

Is there any danger when disassembly it? Something thar can be broken?
