This video saved me. Was having a very difficult time following a different you-tube shop. Then you showed removing the whole thing. Thank you so so much for this!
Thanks guys for the awesome video. It’s essentially the same for a 2011 Lincoln MKX. Following this video, I had minimal problems. The worst was the hook that connects the latch mechanism to the exterior door handle; it fell apart while I was trying to pull everything out so I had to guess at how to put it back together. If this happens, don’t get upset.. just calm down and think it through, it only fits one way, and then you have to tension the little spring as you’re assembling it. Also, if you forget which hole to put the interior manual lock arm into, look at the old actuator and you should see noticeable wear in the plastic.
Good video. HOWEVER As i learned the hard way on this old brittle plastic - For the lock cylinder blocking the inner handle mechanism from sliding forward and into the door cavity -- dont simply force it to push in as seen here, due to a likelihood of the rear plastic tangs breaking. Instead, using a 90* pick, gently pop out the long horizontal tabs that hold the lock cylinder in place - take the lock cylinder out and the inner handle mechanism will slide forward and pop right into the door cavity. Wish I’d remembered that before breaking it haha ((Was a certified Ford Tech 6 years ago))
Replaced the "door latch actuator" on my 2015 MKX, AWD today. Your video was excellent. However the "Door ajar icon" remained on the dash after completing the job! Also get the same warning tone whenever I come to a stop while driving. Any suggestions to solve this issue?
Ok, I was hoping to see the REPLACEMENT part of this procedure... I'm going through the same thing now and having a HELL of a time with it (Not a mechanic)! I can understand y u left this out lol
Hey my friend I have a 2007 ford edge sel all-wheel drive my problem with this car is that the left driver side puddle light is not working everything else works like the mirror window power door lock except for the puddle light is not working by any chance do I have to change the latch on the left driver side door and order for the light to work😔
Do you have any videos on how to fix or replace the AC actuators on a 13 lincoln mkx or similar vehicles. I tried replacing the passenger side but the inside part that holds on to the actuator broke inside.. Any help? Do you know if I must remove the whole dashboard to get inside of it?
